Student answer (Band 5.5)

Digitalization is speading dramatically in contemporary society,so some of the individuals aruge that the in todays digital age people give no longer importance to cinemas and theatres because they can acess all entertainment online .Others think that they are still important becuase they have economical and cutural values.

From my point of view it is true that those entertainment venues are no longer given importance as compared to previous times this is mainly because people become socially isolated due to digitalization. Costs of theatres and cinemas could aslo be the reason why public don't prefer going there. On the other hand some people still belive they have cultural and economical importance mainly because they attract tourist and increase GDP (Gross Domestic Product) value of a country.

Besides, having many entertaiment venues throughout the country people still consider to watch a movie or a series online this is because they have become socially isolated speciallly youngsters. They are less attracted towards theatres and cinemas because they have all acess to watch that particular entertainment online for example, Netflix and Disney plus are most popular online streaming platform that provide all new and old entertainements. Another reason is that they consider buying ticket is a waste of money for example, cinemas sometimes sell expensive ticket for a new movie this can reduce interest among individuals.

However, it is true that those places benfits culturally and economically by attracting tourist ,for example In russia there is a museam called 'Big Museam' where thousands of people visit everyday, so it directly increases GDP values by provding job opportunites while preserving cultural places.

To conclude screen time should be minimze because it is dropping public interest towards outdoor activites like movie dayout. Also cinemas and governement should providing budget freindly tickets to benefitits's ecomony and cultural preservation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a position: you argue that online access and cost reduce attendance, while venues can support tourism, employment and cultural preservation. These points are relevant, and the examples of streaming services and a Russian museum help illustrate them. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that people become socially isolated is repeated but not clearly connected to why cinemas are less important, and the economic and cultural case is supported by a museum example rather than a clear example of a theatre or cinema. Your conclusion introduces recommendations about screen time and ticket prices instead of clearly restating your judgement on the two views. Explain the competing arguments more fully and make your own position explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, discussion of online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph and a conclusion. Connectors such as “On the other hand,” “Besides” and “However” signal shifts between ideas. Nevertheless, progression is uneven: the first body paragraph already mentions both sides, and the next paragraphs revisit similar points, especially social isolation and online access. Some links are also unclear, as in “having many entertainment venues throughout the country people still consider to watch a movie or a series online.” The conclusion moves to recommendations without clearly drawing together the discussion. Give each body paragraph one main purpose, order its supporting points logically, and use referencing and transitions to show how each idea relates to the task.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “online streaming platform,” “GDP,” “cultural preservation” and “job opportunities.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the subject, and the intended meaning is generally recoverable. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, for example “speading,” “aruge,” “entertaiment” and “benfits.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “give no longer importance,” “GDP value” and “movie dayout.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, and repeated use of general terms such as “important” and “entertainment” limits precision. Check spelling carefully and learn natural collocations, such as “place importance on” and “contribute to the economy.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and an example introduced by “for example.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. For instance, “people give no longer importance” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “cinemas and governement should providing” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “Netflix and Disney plus are most popular online streaming platform.” Commas and spacing are inconsistent, and some sentences run together or lack a clear grammatical connection. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check verb forms, articles and punctuation.
