Student answer (Band 5.0)

Due to availability of tech and online devices, a few people have a notion that in current digital era there is no need for theatres and movie houses while other believe that these both are as necessary as financially and traditionally. I agree to the statement that in this tech era, the usage of on net devices reduce the capability of both theatres and movie houses whereas their importance as financially and culturally are considered.

Moving to the first view, There are lot of resources online for public where they have access to unlimited entertainment and fun. If they try to go to theatres and cinemas, they will eventually miss the fun and exposure. I strongly agree to this point because these innovative sources lead to more specific ways for their enjoyment. For Instance, according to a study conducted in UK in 2021, Youngsters had bought more online screens for watching movies and series rather than buying tickets for movie houses.

Additionally, The business owners in this sector face a lot of damage because public have changed their trend and move to online fun activities. I disagree to statement and this is also said that these cinemas and theatres are crucial for nation to show their culture and earn money but due to recent advances this creates a problem for owners. For instance, major movie houses experience a dramatic loss to their viewership in our country.

In conclusion, according to a number of people who said that theatres and cinemas are not needed due to presence of on net fun is true and reasons are specificity of online fun and audience retention. Secondly, this argument about movie houses and theatres is also crucial as it effects economically and traditionally and reasons are ongoing public trends and online fun material.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a view, particularly in the opening, where you contrast online entertainment with the economic and cultural value of venues. However, the position becomes difficult to follow: you say you agree that online devices reduce the venues’ “capability,” then later write “I disagree to statement” without making clear which statement you mean. The economic and cultural case is mentioned, but its benefits are not explained; instead, the paragraph focuses on owners’ losses. The examples about UK youngsters and local cinemas are relevant in topic, but they are asserted rather than connected clearly to your reasoning. Develop each side with a specific explanation and make your own conclusion explicit and consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within and between paragraphs is not consistently clear. The second paragraph begins with online access, then claims people would “miss the fun and exposure” at venues, which does not clearly support the point. In the next paragraph, “Additionally” introduces a related issue, but “I disagree to statement” creates confusion about the argument’s direction. The conclusion repeats the two positions rather than resolving them. Linking phrases such as “Moving to the first view” and “In conclusion” are present, but some are mechanical or do not clarify relationships. Organise each paragraph around one clear claim, explain it, and use references and transitions that show how ideas connect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “digital era,” “online,” “viewership,” and “culturally,” which helps establish the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “on net devices,” “online screens,” “specificity of online fun,” and “as financially and traditionally.” Repetition of “fun,” “movie houses,” and “crucial” also limits precision. Some expressions appear to be attempts at formal vocabulary but are not used naturally, which can make the reader work to interpret your point. Aim for accurate, conventional phrases for this topic, such as “streaming services,” “ticket sales,” and “preserve cultural traditions,” and check that each chosen word fits its grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “whereas,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “other believe” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “these both are as necessary as financially and traditionally” lacks a clear grammatical structure. The sentence beginning “I disagree to statement and this is also said” joins ideas without a clear relationship, and “it effects economically” uses an incorrect verb form in context. Capitalisation after commas is also inconsistent, as in “Moving to the first view, There.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
