Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this digital era, people can easily get the access to all the things in the internet. At this situation, some people think that it is not no longer need to go to theatres and cinemas to watch entertainment contents as all of those are available in online. While others argue that theatres and cinemas have a substantial impact on a country's economical and cultural part. I firmly agree with this point of view.
In this cutting-edge technology, we are much involved in online activities. So the broadcasting of tv shows, cinemas and movie series is prevalent in online. For example, many people use netflix, amazon prime, disney plus and many other platforms for their entertainment purpose where they can easily watch any cinemas or contents whenever these get released. By this way, they do not have to go physically to theatres to get the entertainment. Some individuals find it problematic to go to theatres and stand on a long queue for a single ticket. Moreover, sometimes online tickets are all booked when it is a rush period in cinema halls. Some people cannot afford the excessive price of tickets if they want to watch multiple contents. As a result, they rely on online contents for their amusement.
On the contrary, people need to visit theatres and cinemas for both economical and cultural purpose even if the contents are available in online. Celebrities who work on film industry, want appreciation from their fans and they expect their audience will come to theatres to explore their work. In addition, when a high-budget project gets released in cinemas, they expect to earn more money to cover up the cost. So when the audiences do not go to theatres it can cause a financial loss in the cinema industry and business. This trend is also responsible for pirated movies which exacerbates the cultural importance of a country.
In conclusion, if we want to contribute in economical and cultural part of our country, we should visit theatres and cinemas more often.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state your position clearly: you support the continuing economic and cultural importance of cinemas. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons for online viewing, including convenience, queues, ticket availability and cost. The second explains how cinema attendance can support film-makers and the industry. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The claim that piracy “exacerbates the cultural importance” is unclear, and the cultural case is not explained as fully as the economic one. To strengthen the response, clarify how shared cinema experiences or local film traditions contribute to culture, and explain more precisely how online viewing affects the industry.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. The progression within the first body paragraph is also easy to follow, moving from online platforms to practical reasons people choose them. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Moreover,” and “On the contrary” help signal relationships between ideas. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control, but cohesion is not consistently natural: “By this way” and “This trend” do not connect ideas precisely, and the final paragraph introduces no new synthesis of the two views. Use more exact referencing and make the conclusion briefly acknowledge why online access does not replace cinema’s wider role.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including terms such as “cutting-edge technology,” “high-budget project,” “financial loss,” and “pirated movies.” These choices show an attempt to use less common vocabulary, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “entertainment contents,” “in online,” “economical and cultural part,” and “exacerbates the cultural importance.” These errors limit precision even when the reader can infer your meaning. Aim for natural topic-specific combinations, such as “online content,” “available online,” and “economic and cultural significance,” and check whether verbs such as “exacerbate” express the intended relationship.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “when,” “if,” and “even if,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “get the access” needs a different article pattern, “it is not no longer need” combines incompatible forms, and “Celebrities … want appreciation … and they expect their audience will come” has awkward clause structure. There are also errors in “when a high-budget project gets released … they expect to earn,” where the pronoun reference is unclear. Review article use and build complex sentences around one clear subject and verb; this will improve accuracy without sacrificing variety.
