Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear preference for online entertainment, giving convenience and lower cost as reasons, and the example of late-night programmes begins to support your point. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the response gives almost no explanation of why theatres and cinemas remain economically or culturally important. The opening merely acknowledges their value without developing it, and there is no concluding summary of your position. The ideas presented are also brief and only partly explained. The response is 167 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough development to address the task fully. To improve, explain the opposing view with a specific example, extend both main reasons, and finish with a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening statement followed by paragraphs introduced with “To begin with” and “Furthermore.” These markers help signal that you are adding reasons for your preference. However, the ideas do not progress through a complete discussion: the opposing view is not developed, and the final paragraph ends abruptly rather than bringing the argument to a close. Some connections between points are unclear, particularly the move from watching on devices to having time for chores and work. Punctuation and spacing also make the flow harder to follow, as in “I totally agree, this” and the long sentence beginning “Because of technology advancement.” Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, connect examples explicitly to claims, and add a concluding sentence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “technology advancement,” “data subscription,” “shift work,” and “stressful day.” These choices show an attempt to discuss convenience and cost rather than relying entirely on very basic terms. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “each persons comfort zone,” “view movie and advertisement,” and “relief of their stressful day.” Spelling errors such as “cutural” and “Beacuse” are also noticeable. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to interpret. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing cultural and economic benefits, and check spelling and natural word combinations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both a complex opening sentence and longer sentences with reasons and examples, showing some range beyond simple statements. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “Although …, however” combines two contrasting structures unnecessarily, while “it reduces cost implications and create time” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Because of technology advancement” is a fragment-like construction followed by several ideas joined without clear boundaries. There are also missing articles and infinitive forms, as in “necessary buy.” Use shorter, complete sentences where needed, then practise joining ideas with accurate subordinate clauses. Careful proofreading for agreement and sentence boundaries would make your meaning clearer.
