Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference: “I will strongly agree” that theatres and cinemas remain important. The online-entertainment paragraph gives relevant reasons, including convenience, busy schedules and avoiding queues, while the other side mentions cultural dramas and time with family. However, the cultural and economic importance is only partly explored: the examples of Sri Lankan dramas support the cultural point, but the economic aspect in the prompt is not discussed. Some claims, such as films appearing online sooner, also need clearer explanation or support. Develop each view more evenly and explain why your examples matter. The response is on topic and includes a conclusion, but the position and supporting ideas need fuller development. The length requirement is met; 10 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. You also use basic signposting such as “on the one hand,” “on the other hands,” and “in conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several points are joined without clear relationships. For example, the move from online release dates to queues and seating is abrupt, while “Anyway” does not clearly signal the intended contrast. Some references, including “this both” and “their,” are difficult to interpret. Use clearer topic sentences, group related reasons together, and connect examples explicitly to the point they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “entertainment,” “culturally,” “history dramas,” “crowd,” and “stress,” and the reader can generally identify the main ideas. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice problems that sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “socity,” “importans,” “famouse,” and “adventager and disadventagers.” Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “watching online everything” and “spend with over famliys.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for convenience, cultural heritage and the economic contribution of venues would help you explain the task’s ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic linking clauses, for example, “because now peoples are very busy” and “we went cinema and watch fills.” However, sentence structures are limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur frequently, sometimes making the intended meaning hard to understand. Examples include “Some peoples thinks,” “no have to time,” and “we has a time.” There are also incomplete or poorly controlled constructions, such as “Anyway online watching can a sit any place.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although” and “while.” Check subject–verb agreement, verb tense and articles in each sentence.
