Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the era of digital age and technology theatres and cinemas have there importance as well as digital solutions is also play a important role of every human life.

In the digital era of technology people do prefer watch movies and dramas on their phones or laptop. Because its saves the traveling time and other food and ticket expense. For example if someone is busy during the whole day with his job or business so they dont have much time to go theatres and cinemas for a movie. They can watch these at night during their free and relaxing time and also save the time and other expenses as well. Because a job person is restricted to going to watch films in the evening show because of his job time so its easy to watch favorite movies at night and spend good quality time with family as well.

Theatres and cinemas also give you big screen show where you find a peace and focused. A big screen experience is always joyful and interesting. For example if the family plan to go for a outing so the cinemas is the best place to visit they can enjoy the food with big screen adventure and also the enjoying delicious snacks as well. The new movies and serials is displayed in the theatres and cinemas for first launch so its a good experience to watch it on a big screen and its also the part of our old culture as well.

In conclusion is that both entertainments have their own experiences and both are preferd as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion: online viewing is presented as convenient and less costly, while cinemas offer a large-screen experience and a social outing. The examples about a busy worker and a family visit are relevant. However, the response only partly fulfils the task because the cultural and economic importance of theatres and cinemas is not really explained; saying they are “part of our old culture” is not developed, and the economic point is largely limited to viewers’ ticket and food expenses. Your own opinion is also unclear: the conclusion says both forms have their own experiences, but does not state which view you support or how you weigh them. Develop these points and make your position explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs for online viewing and cinemas, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the first body paragraph returns several times to saving time and watching after work, while the cinema paragraph repeats the big-screen and food experience. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “Because” to begin sentences and the shift from the family outing example to the claim about first launches and culture. The conclusion is too brief to bring the discussion together. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, connect examples directly to that reason, and use clearer transitions between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital era,” “traveling time,” “big screen experience,” and “first launch.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “a peace and focused” does not clearly express the intended atmosphere, and “big screen adventure” is an awkward description of watching a film. Repetition of “time,” “experience,” and “enjoy” also limits precision. Aim to use more exact expressions for convenience, social value, and cultural significance, and check spelling and word forms such as “preferred” and “importance.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “if.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms can make ideas difficult to follow. For instance, “digital solutions is also play” combines incompatible verb forms, while “the new movies and serials is displayed” has subject–verb agreement and passive-form problems. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and several sentences run together or begin with “Because” without being properly connected. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each subject matches its verb.
