Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people think that the modern era of the entertainment series is transforming itself in an online version and other individual say that theatre and cinemas are still major part of society and culture, I agree with this sentiment as they share a important sense of familyhood and love.

Nowadays, I think that online version is taking away the memories of family, As i can say that things are transformed into digital era where everything can be visualize on their screen where they can't share their crucial time with family. For instance, In early period children used to spent their memories with elders under the roof of cinemas which were often created outside to watch movies. and it has been now taken up by their phone, tab , and laptops .

On the other hand, I believe that cinema and theatres are still a crucial part of cultural and ancient heritage. It is a place where people from diverse group of ages shares a sense of familyhood and feelings in same spot as they laugh, cry , and have the same feelings as one another by seeing the screen ,For instense, A devotional movie launched in india which was seen by different age of people and they shared the same emotions in cinemas and theatres which can't be enjoyed alone in a digital screen .

In conclusion,I agree that cinemas and theatres are still a necessary part of economically and culturally as it shares a part of familyhood and love which cant' be seen in small screen.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear opinion that cinemas and theatres remain important, and you include relevant points about shared family experiences and cultural value. However, the discussion of the opposing view is only partial: the first body paragraph focuses on online viewing taking away family memories, rather than explaining why people value its convenience, choice, or accessibility. The economic importance mentioned in the prompt is also not addressed, despite appearing in your conclusion. Your examples, such as the devotional film watched by different age groups, support the cultural point but are not developed in detail. To strengthen the response, explain both viewpoints more evenly and support each with specific reasons before reaching your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow the main direction, and transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” signal shifts clearly. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long sentences, and the first paragraph’s link between online viewing and lost family memories is not fully explained. Some references, such as “it” and “they,” are not always immediately clear. Use shorter, more controlled sentences and make the relationship between each claim and its example explicit. This would make the organisation more consistently clear rather than relying mainly on paragraph-level signposting.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital era,” “cultural,” “heritage,” and “diverse,” and your meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. For example, “entertainment series” does not clearly express the idea of entertainment moving online, while “familyhood” is not a natural term for shared family bonds. “Ancient heritage” is also an awkward description of the cultural role of cinemas. Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “online entertainment,” “shared family experiences,” and “cultural heritage.” Check spelling and word forms as well, including “instance” and “visualised,” to improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “where” and “as,” and the overall message can usually be understood. However, complex sentences are often not controlled successfully, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur frequently. For example, “people from diverse group of ages shares” has problems with both number agreement and the noun phrase, while “children used to spent” uses the wrong verb form after “used to.” The opening sentence is a comma splice, and capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses once the basic structure is secure.
