Student answer (Band 5.0)
The debate over theatres and cinemas are significant or not more important anymore in technological era, So I totally support that theatres and cinemas are vital.
First and foremost therates and cinemas have significant role because it is thing which is very enjoyable and it make freinds and family together. We can say clearly that watching movies and other entertainment on theatres and cinemas is more likeable and it captures a good memory than watching online in particular room.Being in a house and watching movies or dramas in a same environment make individuals bored and depressed so going there makes your mind fresh. Having all entertainments in a home and not visiting anywhere is sign of stress however visiting cinemas gives you a different enviroment and makes your mind fresh.
On other hand there is also a positve thing in watching movies online which is that it saves your time and not gives irritation which you can have in crowded cinemas. The digital era has a similar vibe which u can get in cinemas and theatres so on that point going there is waste of time and waste of money which you are paying in tickets or transportation
Ultimately in my point of view as there are also advantages and negative view in going to cinemas and theatres but cinemas have a different vibes which you can never get in a particular house watching online

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you support the continuing importance of theatres and cinemas, and you give relevant reasons such as shared experiences, memorable outings, and the convenience of online viewing. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the online-entertainment argument receives only brief treatment: you mention saving time and avoiding crowds, but do not explain why this makes venues less important or provide an example. The economic and cultural importance named in the prompt is also not addressed. Your reasons for your own view are repeated rather than developed with specific support. The response is 15 words below the required minimum, which further limits the space available to develop the discussion. Add a fuller opposing viewpoint and concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening position, a paragraph supporting venues, a paragraph on online viewing, and a concluding opinion. Linking phrases such as “First and foremost,” “On other hand,” and “Ultimately” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several points repeat the idea that cinemas refresh the mind or provide a different environment. The contrast between the two views is not fully connected, and the final sentence is difficult to follow because it combines advantages and disadvantages without clearly resolving them. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main claim, then explain and exemplify it. Clearer references and more varied, accurate transitions would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital era,” “crowded cinemas,” “transportation,” and “different environment.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of your ideas. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “watching movies,” “cinemas and theatres,” and “makes your mind fresh.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “captures a good memory,” “a similar vibe,” and “positive thing.” There are also spelling errors, including “therates,” “freinds,” and “enviroment,” which reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing shared experiences, convenience, and cultural or economic value, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “The debate over theatres and cinemas are significant or not” has faulty agreement and an unclear structure; “it is thing which is very enjoyable and it make freinds and family together” contains article, agreement, and sentence-pattern problems. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention: the opening joins clauses with a comma, while “room.Being” has no space after the full stop. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete ideas into sentences before attempting longer constructions.
