Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a personal preference for going to cinemas and theatres, and you mention relevant benefits such as spending time with family and enjoying a large screen. You also introduce the opposing view that cinema visits can be expensive and that online platforms are more accessible. However, the discussion only partly answers the prompt: the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is not clearly explained, and the online-entertainment argument is brief. Your position is difficult to identify consistently because the opening contrasts different people’s preferences, while the conclusion simply says there are advantages and disadvantages. Develop both views with specific reasons or examples, then state your own position clearly and maintain it throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the discussion by viewpoint. Connectors such as “conversely,” “moreover” and “in conclusion” also signal some relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from family time to screen size, snacks, nearby restaurants and profit without explaining how these points connect. Several linking expressions are inaccurate or awkward, and the conclusion does not summarise the main arguments or resolve the discussion. Plan one clear main idea for each paragraph, support it with an explanation or example, and use simpler, accurate transitions and clear references to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “online platform,” “middle class families,” “physical activities” and “expensive.” These choices show an effort to discuss access, cost and health rather than relying only on basic opinions. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “preffed,” “waist of money,” “provided some snacks and droks” and “profit cinames.” Some phrases, such as “fresh mind to quite an insidence,” are unclear. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations. Prefer precise, familiar expressions over ambitious phrases whose meaning is uncertain.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to form longer sentences and use clauses with “when,” “because” and “so,” showing some awareness of complex structures. However, these attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence construction make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “when some people are preffed to going cinames” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “they thinking are they are waist of m,oney” has problems with verb forms and clause order. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “the ciname and theather has.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing, producing run-on sentences. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time, checking verb forms, agreement and punctuation.
