Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the digital age, online platforms have made entertainment more accessible than ever, leading some people to believe that cinemas and theatres are no longer necessary.
People nowadays, watch most movies online and spend most of their time on online platforms, where they can watch reels, news, and follow modern trends. They often believe that going to theatres or cinemas are not important as you now have access to everything digitally. It is true that we have all entertainment available on online platforms like Netflix and Prime Video, so the need to get up and be dressed is not necessarily needed.
But, it has one drawback that people became lonely in their homes as they watch movies alone. In this way family trend is diminishing. Individuals are neglecting the importance of family time and how this will have a positive effect on their body and brain. People that argue the importance of theathers and cinemas are right as it provides economic benefits to the country and also have some cultural importance, as in past it was the only way of entertainment. One counter argument is that people are often too busy to go to cinema. They may prefer streaming at home as it is easier and fits into a busy scedule no need to go buy tickets.
In conclusion, although online streaming is convenient I believe cinemas and theaters reamain important. They support local jobs and keep cultural traditions alive. Even though many people are busy and stream at home, these spaces still play a valuable role in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both perspectives and state a clear view: streaming is convenient, but cinemas and theatres remain important because they support jobs and cultural traditions. The discussion of online access is relevant, and you also introduce social and economic reasons for retaining venues. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that watching films at home makes people lonely and diminishes family life needs clearer reasoning or a specific example. The economic and cultural importance of venues is also mentioned briefly, without showing how they benefit communities or preserve culture. Develop each side more evenly and connect your examples directly to the question to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a discussion of the views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking expressions such as “But,” “One counter argument,” and “In conclusion” help signal changes in direction. However, the main discussion combines several ideas—loneliness, family time, economic benefits, cultural importance, and busy schedules—in one paragraph, so the progression is not always easy to follow. The relationship between the counterargument about busy schedules and the preceding points could also be clearer. Use separate, focused body paragraphs for the case for online entertainment and the continuing value of venues, and use clearer references when explaining how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “streaming,” “economic benefits,” and “cultural importance,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “family trend is diminishing,” although this expression is not natural in context. Some word choices and collocations are imprecise or repetitive: “all entertainment available,” “the need to get up and be dressed,” and repeated uses of “important” could be expressed more precisely. Spelling errors such as “theathers,” “scedule,” and “reamain” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural phrases for discussing convenience, social interaction, employment, and cultural value, and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “although online streaming is convenient” and a relative clause in “People that argue…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “People nowadays, watch” has an unnecessary comma, “going to theatres or cinemas are” has subject–verb disagreement, and “people became lonely” uses an unsuitable tense in this general statement. The sentence beginning “It is true that…” also has an awkward construction around “the need to get up and be dressed is not necessarily needed.” Aim for more consistently accurate agreement and verb forms, and revise long sentences so that their grammatical relationships are clear. Punctuation around introductory phrases also needs attention.
