Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary times, many people argued that theatres and cinemas are no longer essential as all the entertainment is available on internet while some people still believe that theaters and cinemas plays vital role economically and culturally respectively.I believe although modernization has brought comfort, it cannot replace the ennjoyment level of theaters ab\nd cinemas.
On the one hand, people argue that theatres and cinemas are no longer important and the reason is, they can watch all the entertainment online as it saves time and money both.Mostly people prefers to watch their favourite content by staying at home because it saves fuel consumption as well as they do not have to experience any traffic congestion which will save their time. On the other hand, some people believes that cinemas and theatres has their own importance with respect of culture and economy. Cinemas and theatres do not exist not for the entertainment only as well as they represent our old culture. Meanwhile, it helps to provide job opportunities. For instance, many employes working in the cinemas or theatres, are financial supporters of their families. Therefore, these kind of entertainment places are beneficial economically.
From my perspective, Modernization can never replace our cultural values. People cherish the work of artists, actors and actreses by watching them on a big screen with loud applauses which increases social interaction. Although intenet has vast contribution in entertainment, many platforms still requires payroll charges for their premium content. In cinemas, everyone can enjoy movie or entertainment on the same day it releases whereas premium websites and platforms shows the same content after few months.
In conclusion , People can watch content online instead of watching in cinemas and theatres just to save money and time but comparatively , cinema has cultural values as well as it positvely impacts economy of the nation. I believe that theatres and cinemas are still important as it increase social interaction and appreciate real artists hardwork.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear opinion: online viewing is convenient, but cinemas and theatres retain cultural and social value. Relevant support includes saving travel time and fuel, providing employment, and allowing audiences to experience films together. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that these venues represent “our old culture” would be stronger with a specific cultural example, and the comparison about online platforms releasing films later is not developed or clearly linked to why venues matter economically or culturally. Your position is clearest in the introduction and conclusion, but could be reinforced more consistently as each argument is discussed. Develop fewer points with more precise explanation and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting both views, a paragraph giving your perspective, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. However, the first body paragraph combines the two opposing views, so the shift between them feels abrupt; separate paragraphs would make the progression clearer. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Meanwhile,” “Therefore,” and “Although.” References such as “these kind of entertainment places” are not fully clear in number and wording. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then connect supporting details with more varied and precise transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “traffic congestion,” “job opportunities,” “cultural values,” and “social interaction,” which allows you to discuss convenience, employment, and shared experiences. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “financial supporters of their families,” though this is not a natural collocation. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “ennjoyment,” “employes,” “actreses,” “intenet,” and “positvely.” Phrases such as “all the entertainment” and “payroll charges” are also imprecise in context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas sound more controlled without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “although modernization has brought comfort” and a contrast introduced by “Although internet has vast contribution.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “theatres and cinemas plays” and “many people prefers”; articles and plural forms are also problematic in “on internet” and “these kind of entertainment places.” The opening sentence has a faulty construction around “I believe although,” and punctuation is often missing after sentence boundaries, as in “both.Mostly” and “families.Therefore.” Use a clear sentence pattern for your opinion, check agreement and articles, and proofread punctuation. More accurate control of these forms would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
