Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some members of society believe that cinemas and theatres are no longer important in this digital era, while others believe that small screens can not replace the experience of large screen of cinema houses. I strongly agree later viewpoint owing to its benefits that can only be achieved by exeriencing the dynamic atmosphere and services of large screen halls.

Benefits of theatres are multifaceted. First, economically, cinema are not just the places for entertainment but sources of revenue collection by government. Every one who purchases a ticket for any show contributes to the tex that goes to our state thereby paying a role toward the prosperity of state. Second, cinemas bear some cultural importance too, the more we keep ourselves intact with our cultural things, the more we get to learn about our ancestoral values. Third, cinemas are sources to feel immersed into a fictional word and put all our brain cells in the show due to atmosphere and size of the screen, thereby providing the real essence of escaping real world worries.

Conversely, proponents of first view pont think otherwise. according to them the mobile phones which provide free of coste streaming and many more features has the potential to completely terminate the use of large screens. Although, there are many logical but superficial reasoning in this aspect too, nevertheless the importance and value of cinemas and theatres can not be neglected altogether.

In conclusion, not only online free resources but also all the emerging srteaming technology is not capable to completely obsolett traditional movie houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your own position clear: you support the continuing importance of cinemas and theatres. The economic, cultural and immersive-experience points are relevant, and the explanation that ticket purchases contribute tax revenue gives one reason some support. However, the opposing view is only briefly presented: you mention free mobile streaming but do not explain its advantages, such as convenience or choice. Some supporting ideas also need clearer development; for example, the link between cinemas and learning ancestral values is asserted rather than illustrated. To strengthen the response, explain each side more fully and add a specific example, then connect your reasons directly to your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph supporting cinemas, a paragraph presenting the opposing view, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Second,” “Third,” and “Conversely” help readers follow the main points, and your position remains consistent. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The transition from the cultural point to the immersive experience is abrupt, while “Although” and “nevertheless” are used together in a way that makes the contrast feel awkward. The opposing-view paragraph is also much shorter than the supporting paragraph, so the discussion feels unbalanced. Develop that paragraph and use clearer links between claims and explanations to make cohesion more flexible and natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “sources of revenue,” “cultural importance,” “immersed,” and “streaming technology.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “tex,” “paying a role,” “fictional word,” “free of coste,” and “obsolett”; “small screens can not replace the experience of large screen” is also an awkward phrase. Some expressions, such as “put all our brain cells in the show,” are too informal or unnatural for this essay. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the mobile phones which provide…” and a cause-and-effect construction with “thereby.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “cinema are” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “the experience of large screen” needs an article and clearer noun phrasing. In “the mobile phones … has the potential,” the plural subject does not agree with “has”; the sentence also shifts awkwardly between plural phones and singular potential. The opening sentence contains a long structure that is difficult to control. Review agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, and use complex structures only when you can maintain accurate grammar throughout.
