Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You express a clear preference for the view that cinemas and theatres remain important, and you mention relevant economic and cultural effects, including employment, tax revenue, and films that present national history. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the argument that online entertainment makes venues less important is not explained. Your examples, such as children watching films with parents, are difficult to follow and do not clearly support the comparison. The response also ends mid-sentence, leaving the final point incomplete. The response is 192 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to develop and support the ideas. Address both sides explicitly and explain each example’s relevance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and body paragraphs, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “On other hand” signal a change in point. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph focuses on leisure and family time, while the next shifts among employment, cultural value, and tax without clear links. Some connections are unclear, as in “if we baned the movies it collapes the empolyement,” and the final sentence is unfinished. Use one paragraph for the case for online viewing and another for the continuing value of venues, with each paragraph developing a single main idea. Clearer referencing and complete sentences would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “economically and culturally,” “employment,” “history,” and “taxes,” and you refer to several kinds of film. This shows some ability to discuss the subject, but the range is limited and many word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “predomantaly,” “lazer time,” “numder,” and “cultura”; phrases such as “the theatres was collected the money” are also not natural expressions. Aim for accurate, topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe cinemas as “cultural venues” and say they “generate tax revenue.” More precise vocabulary would help communicate your relevant ideas without requiring the reader to infer your meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea beginning “if we baned the movies,” but most sentences are difficult to interpret because of frequent problems with sentence structure and verb forms. For example, “some individual was interest to watched movies” combines an incorrect verb form with an unclear construction, while “the theatres was collected the money” has problems with tense and subject–verb agreement. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are also inconsistent, and the final sentence is incomplete. These errors sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then connect them with clauses using forms such as “because” and “although.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
