Student answer (Band 5.5)
Certain individuals argued that with etchnology development, theaters and cinemas are not vital because people can watch everything the want on the internet. While, others advocate that they were important for culture and econimic as well. Therefore, my prior to my decision, both views are reviewed in the following paragraphs.
Discussing the foremost view, the foremost argument put forward by supporters is that cinemas were not a trend now and it is preferable by everyone because they get to watch entertainment such as drama, movie, serial on the any website that too without payment. Meanwhile, if we go to cinema then we have to buy tickets. Most adults do not like to go outside so, they watch drama online on the laptop or moblie. For instance, one flim was relased and they were interested to watch it but they will watch it online because it is very convenient for them. As a result, people will choose their comfort and watch film by staying at home.
On the contrary, the proponents of the latter notion advocate that cinemas were vital because it shows our culture. By having theatres, it will be heplful for economy as well. People who go to cinemas will buy tickets which help economy to grow. For example, public was going more to cinemas and buying many tickets then it will develop economy with the profit. As a result, they will build more cinemas for people and earn money from it.
To conclude and offer my opinion, I would firmly bolster the second view rather than first one because i often watch films in theatres and it is amazing experience. In theatres, we get to watch on a big screen unlike small screen of phone. Hence, it is important to have theatres and cinemas for people who are still into watching movie in a big screen.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for the continued importance of theatres and cinemas, especially in the conclusion. The discussion of online viewing includes relevant points about convenience and avoiding ticket costs, while the opposing view mentions cultural value and economic benefits. However, these ideas are only briefly explained: the claim that cinemas “shows our culture” is not illustrated, and the economic point largely repeats that ticket sales help the economy without explaining wider effects such as employment. The first view also includes broad claims, such as “everyone” preferring online entertainment, without qualification. Develop each side with a specific, explained example and make your opinion more explicit in the introduction to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that gives your opinion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “On the contrary,” “For example,” and “To conclude.” However, some linking is mechanical or does not express the relationship accurately. “Therefore, my prior to my decision” is unclear, and “As a result” introduces a consequence that is not fully established in either body paragraph. Some ideas within paragraphs repeat rather than progress, particularly the points about convenience and choosing to stay at home. Use clearer transitions and organise each paragraph around a main claim followed by explanation and a specific example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “convenient,” “culture,” “economy,” and “big screen,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the expression less natural. Examples include “etchnology development,” “not a trend now,” “on the any website,” and “amazing experience.” There are also repeated general words such as “people,” “watch,” and “important,” where more precise alternatives would help distinguish the arguments. Aim to learn common collocations for this topic and check spelling carefully; more accurate phrases such as “stream films online” or “contribute to the local economy” would make your points clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “cinemas were not a trend now” shifts tense awkwardly, while “it shows our culture” does not agree with the plural subject “cinemas.” The sentence beginning “For example, public was going more…” also has an unclear structure and tense sequence. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent tense. This will make your ideas easier to read.
