Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this mordern era, everything is now available over the internet easily. Internet have a broad range of entertainment e.g. movies, TV shows, web series etc. Public prefer online enjoyment rather than going to theaters and cinema halls, due to lack of time.

On the one hand, people think of it as a floccinaucinihilipilification to watch movies in cinema halls and plays in theatres. As nowaday's, all the content is availble over the world wide web at anytime.Let's assume a situation, if a person is travelling, he or she can use their time by enjoying videos over the online network.

On the other hand, few individuals thinks that it is important for everyone to visit and get entertained in theatres and cinemas because of the time we spen with our loved ones. Buying tickets form theatres and cinemas for live enjoyment can give a boost to both economy and culture. There are several areas where only traditional performances are shown, which helps us to learn facts about different cultures e.g. Punjabi bhangra, Rajasthani folk dance etc.

Generally, keeping all things in mind I think both things have their own impant on people.

It's better to let people decide what is best for their joy and what kind of things they want.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal position, so the response is relevant to the task. The online-entertainment side is illustrated by watching videos while travelling, while the case for venues includes economic benefits and cultural performances such as bhangra and Rajasthani folk dance. However, these points are brief and not fully explained: for example, you mention a boost to the economy without showing how theatres support jobs or local businesses. Your conclusion that both options have value is also quite general and does not clearly weigh the arguments. The response is 39 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Extend each main point with explanation or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the contrast, and the examples are placed with the relevant argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. The travel example is introduced with “Let’s assume a situation” but its connection to the broader claim about convenience could be explained more directly. The final two sentences also repeat the idea that people should choose what suits them rather than synthesising the economic and cultural arguments. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make the conclusion directly answer which view you find more persuasive, or how you balance them.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “entertainment,” “traditional performances,” “culture,” and “economy,” and the examples of regional dance add specificity. There are also attempts at less common language, but “floccinaucinihilipilification” is inappropriate and unclear in this context; simpler, precise wording would communicate the point more effectively. Several spelling and word-choice errors, such as “mordern,” “availble,” “impant,” and “online enjoyment,” reduce accuracy and naturalness. Phrases such as “live enjoyment” and “get entertained” are understandable but not idiomatic. Build a reliable range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so that ambitious choices do not obscure your meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a conditional example (“if a person is travelling, he or she can use their time”) and a relative clause (“performances are shown, which helps us…”). Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries remain. For example, “Internet have” should use a singular verb, and “few individuals thinks” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “As nowaday’s” is not a complete, well-formed clause, while “at anytime.Let’s” needs sentence spacing and clearer punctuation. Practise accurate sentence patterns and proofread agreement and punctuation, especially when joining clauses or introducing examples.
