Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, this toic has become widely debatable.while, a goup of individuals believe that in this digital era threatres and cinemas are no longer important due to the fact that people can watch all the entertainment online whenever they want.Others strongly argue that threatres and cinemas still have significant role both economically and culturally.
A considerable amount of people think that threatres and cinemas are no longer needed anymore because technology advancement has transform the channel of entertainment.Modern generation prefer watching movies, dramas and shows on their TV Screens at home, rather than going to cinema spending money on tickets and watch movie,it is however time consuming and expensive.because ofthis reason nowadays cinema businessis declining day by day and threatre shows are no longer attracting young people.consequently some people believe that in future threatre and cinemas will be vanishe.
Although, some people argue that threatre and cinema are still inevable because they play crucial role in country economy and culture. Threater has play extremply important role in history to educate society in rough time of war. It hepls governments to convey their message to people, and it also help nations to preserve their culture. Additionally it contibute large amount to economy which help countries in developments.
According to my perpective, watching TV in own place is the level of comfort everyone prefer nevertheless, theathres represent culture of the country. for example watching any action movie does not represent any culture value and message to the audience but watching shakespears drama in threatre represent culture and positive message to the society.
In conclusion, I firmily believe that cinema and threatre are still very predominant in this modern world, online entertainment but online entertainment has also become on of the finnest way to get enterain without spending

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall opinion: online viewing is convenient, but theatres and cinemas retain cultural importance. The discussion of online entertainment includes relevant reasons, such as saving money and time, while the cultural paragraph explains how theatre can preserve traditions and communicate messages. However, the economic case is only briefly asserted (“contribute large amount to economy”) and is not supported with an example or explanation. The comparison between action films and Shakespeare also narrows the cultural argument and does not fully establish why cinemas, as well as theatres, remain important. Develop each side more evenly with specific examples, and make your final position more fully reasoned.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the discussion. Some connections are clear, including “Additionally” and “In conclusion,” but linking is sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although” begins a paragraph without a contrasting clause, and “it is however time consuming and expensive” has an unclear reference and awkward relationship to the preceding idea. The conclusion also repeats “online entertainment” and ends with an incomplete thought, weakening the progression. Use clearer topic sentences and ensure each paragraph develops one connected point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “digital era,” “preserve their culture,” “crucial role,” and “convey their message.” These phrases show an effort to discuss both social and economic effects. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “toic,” “inevable,” “predominant,” and “finnest.” Several collocations are also unnatural, such as “technology advancement,” “large amount to economy,” and “get enterain.” Repetition of “important,” “people,” and “entertainment” limits the range. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, then vary repeated terms with precise alternatives such as “audiences,” “cultural venues,” or “online platforms.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “rather than” and a relative clause in “which help countries in developments.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “technology advancement has transform,” “Modern generation prefer,” and “Threater has play”; these need correct verb forms and agreement. The sentence beginning “Modern generation” also runs several ideas together, while punctuation and capitalisation are unreliable. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and full stops during revision.
