Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often debated whether nowadays theaters and cinema are less crucial due to online facility or they are still mattered economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both the views with my opinion.

To begin with, people favored the idea that watching online is better due to several reasons. One of the prominent reasons is no costy. To elaborate it, when we watch movies at home we mustnot go anywhere and it also saves our time and money which is spending on the transportation. Likewise, more convenient is another major reason of it. For instance, people watch movies in theaters but they cannot pause and reverse the clip so comparing to that watching at home is more convenient because we can pause and also revers the clips and also eat whatever we want.

On the other hand, there are various aspects which shows theaters and

cinemas are still sufficent. Big size of screen is one of the main factor of it. To clarify it, people are intrested in watching movies in the big screen which is available just on the theaters neither then mobile phones or laptops. Furthermore, it promotes much joy then at house. Similarly, late release in online platform is another supportive point to shows the importance of theaters and cinemas. To explain it, when the movie advertisement is on the feed people are showing more intrest to watching it emidiately so for that purpose people go in the theaters. In addition, people going in the theaters with family, friends and loved once which also promotes more love and it is way to spend quality time with them.

Regarding my perspective, both are good on their way but watching at theaters and cinemas is important because it shows more intrest towards the bolleywood industries and it also gives people to be employed thats why it is both vital economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for theatres and cinemas, so the response is relevant to the task. The online-view paragraph gives practical reasons—saving travel time and being able to pause a film—while the opposing paragraph mentions the large screen, delayed online releases, and social outings. However, the position is not fully clear or developed: the opening says you will give an opinion, but the final view is brief, and the economic and cultural importance named in the prompt is only partly explained. The claim that cinemas support employment gestures towards the economic point, but needs an example or explanation; cultural value also needs clearer treatment. Develop fewer points with specific support and connect them directly to the question’s economic and cultural dimensions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “Regarding my perspective” helps readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated frames such as “To elaborate it,” “To clarify it,” and “To explain it.” Some links are unclear or inaccurate, including “Similarly” before the point about late online releases, which does not clearly connect to the preceding idea. The final opinion also arrives abruptly rather than drawing together the discussion. Organise each paragraph around a clear main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using fewer and more precise linking expressions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “transportation,” “convenient,” “big size of screen,” and “employed,” and the reader can generally identify the intended ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make expression awkward: “no costy,” “still sufficent,” “late release in online platform,” and “shows more intrest” are examples. There are also repeated general words such as “important,” “reason,” and “people,” where more precise language would help distinguish the economic, cultural, and practical arguments. Build a bank of accurate collocations for this topic and check spelling and word forms. More natural phrasing would make your points easier to understand and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example the sentence beginning “For instance” combines a comparison with an explanation, and the response uses clauses introduced by “because” and “when.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “theaters and cinema are less crucial,” “we mustnot go anywhere,” “which is spending on the transportation,” and “people going in the theaters.” Subject–verb agreement and verb forms are also inconsistent, as in “various aspects which shows” and “people are showing more intrest to watching it.” Practise accurate sentence patterns for comparisons, relative clauses, and reasons, and proofread for agreement, articles, and verb forms.
