Student answer (Band 6.0)

A certain proportion of people think that theatres and cinenas are outdated because of modern technologies. However, some people also argue that theatres and halls are still relevant for creating jobs and enhancing social bonds, and I completely agree with this statement.

On the one hand, cutting-edge modern technologies offer range of ways to watch movies and dramas at home, and watching at home is really convenient for many people. People nowadays prefer comfort, and they always avoid hassles to commute to the theatres and cinemas, and digital technologies provide uninterrupted access to movies. In many big cities such as kolkata, and dhaka, traffic congestion is unavoidable issue, and people need to spend extra hours for going to cinamas, and commuting takes lot of precious time. As a result, people are becoming interested in watching entertaiments at home, and they find it usefull, so they think that theatres and cinenas are out of the box nowadays.

On the other hand, theatres and cinenas are significantly important for many people, and some people are entirely dependent on theatres and cinenas for their earning. Theatres and cinenas, provide many careers opportunites for local people, and they can get jobs at theatres, or they can open their own stall ( eg. food or craft ) at nearby theatres and cinenas. In old days, people went theatres and cinenas with friends and family, and theatres and cinenas made their social connection stronger. As a result, people have more sympathy towards others, and this also help to build a healthier society. By visiting theatres and cinenas, people can know other cultures. It is arguable that theatres and cinenas are hugely siginificant for enhanching connectivity among people.

In conclusion, though theatres and cinenas are faded due to modern devices and accessibilities, they are more important for bringing people together, and they create

jobs and prospects for local dwellers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear opinion: you agree that theatres and cinemas remain important. The first body paragraph explains the convenience of online entertainment, using commuting and traffic in Kolkata and Dhaka as relevant examples. The second gives economic and cultural reasons, including jobs, social connection, and exposure to other cultures. However, these points are not developed equally: the online-viewing argument is explained in more detail, while the cultural benefits and the claim that venues build a healthier society are asserted rather than supported with a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain how a shared live experience or a particular cultural event benefits audiences, and connect each example more explicitly to your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the discussion easy to follow, and the ideas generally progress from convenience to economic and social value. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, and repeated references to “theatres and cinenas” make the second body paragraph feel less fluid. Some links also need clearer logic: “As a result” introduces claims about sympathy and a healthier society without fully showing how the preceding point leads to them. Use more varied referencing, such as “these venues,” and make cause-and-effect links explicit to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “cutting-edge modern technologies,” “traffic congestion,” “careers opportunities,” and “social connection.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but some wording is inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors are noticeable. For example, “out of the box” does not mean outdated in this context, while “theatres and cinenas” is repeated and “accessibilities” is an awkward choice in the conclusion. There are also misspellings such as “entertaiments,” “usefull,” and “siginificant.” Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully; replacing repeated nouns with accurate alternatives will also make your vocabulary more flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “and,” and “though,” and most of your meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For instance, “offer range of ways” needs an article, “traffic congestion is unavoidable issue” also needs one, and “this also help” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “Theatres and cinenas, provide” has an unnecessary comma, while “people went theatres” is missing a preposition. Review these patterns and proofread each sentence for articles, verb agreement, and punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control.
