Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your position clearly in the introduction (“I believe that theatres are important”) and conclusion. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons for online viewing, including convenience, lower costs, and the ability to pause or rewind; the second explains cinemas’ economic contribution and distinctive viewing experience. These points answer the question, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that cinemas “preserve culture experience” is not supported with a specific cultural example, and the economic point about employment and revenue could be developed by explaining who benefits. To strengthen the response, extend each main idea with a clear explanation or relevant example, and make the cultural argument more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the ideas within each paragraph generally follow a sensible order. However, some links are mechanical or do not express the intended relationship accurately. For instance, “However, they can spend time with their family” does not clearly contrast with the previous point, while “Nevertheless” introduces the cinema experience without a clear opposing idea. Some sentences also feel disconnected, particularly in the second body paragraph. Use linking phrases only when their logical function is clear, and connect examples directly to the claims they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cost effective,” “employment opportunities,” “revenue,” and “ticket sales.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “unique atmosphere” and “hectic schedule.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “entretaiment,” “threaters,” “genrate,” and “a wide range of films” (which needs an article) are examples. Phrases such as “film industry support economy” and “thousands of view” are also not expressed naturally. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for discussing economic and cultural effects, rather than relying on approximate wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and more complex forms, including a reason clause (“because it is convenience as well as cost effective”) and a relative clause (“workers who work there”). The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “If they watch film at home then it save their travel time” has problems with the article and subject–verb agreement, and “It offer employment opportunities” also needs agreement. Some sentence boundaries are unclear, as in “In recent times people prefer to watch movies at their home. because…” Practise accurate sentence formation and review agreement and article use; then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
