Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the digital era of technology some people say theatres and cinemas are no longer because peoples can watch easily all the entertainment stuff in online. On the other hand many peoples argue that theatres and cinemas are still important. In my opinion theatres and cinemas are still important because is there any new movie released the theatre plays in different dates. While online we have to taky break around months to see movies in HD quality like Netflix, Amazon prime, Disney and so on.

Many people say theatres and cinemas are no longer important because the saw all stuff like movies, web series in online they are right in their own way for not go to cinemas, Therefore currently internet have all movies and web series. Some people are just sit in their homes to see movies in their smart phones and laptops.

While other hand many people cinemas and theatres are still important because they love to go theatres to saw movies because they are love to enjoy theatres vibe in theatres they love to screaming and shouting in theatres to every iconic scenes

Conclusion to this argue is likely about those say theatres and cinemas are no longer they are right in their own because they have wait to see latest movies. Therefore, some people said theatres and cinemas are still important because they are not miss any new iconic movies to watch. Furthermore in my opinion I also want to go cinema with my family and friends to enjoy myself and saw my favorite movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. You explain that online platforms let people watch films and series at home, while cinemas offer a shared atmosphere and access to new releases; your wish to go with family and friends also makes your position visible. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic and cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not really explored, and several points are repeated rather than explained with specific reasons or examples. The claim that viewers must wait months for HD films online could be developed by explaining how cinema releases differ from streaming. To strengthen the response, develop each side with a clear supporting example and state your view consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an opening, separate discussion of the two views, and a concluding paragraph, which gives it some basic organisation. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated and links between them are often unclear. For example, the conclusion restates that some people prefer online viewing and others value cinemas without clearly weighing the arguments. Connectors such as “Therefore” and “Furthermore” are used, but they do not always show a logical relationship between the sentences. Some references, including “they” in the final paragraph, are unclear. Give each paragraph one main purpose, use topic sentences, and make the conclusion directly summarise your comparison and opinion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main subject, including “movies,” “web series,” “HD quality,” and “theatres vibe.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “important,” “theatres,” and “movies.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “entertainment stuff,” “in online,” and “iconic scenes,” which can make the intended meaning less precise. Aim for more specific language to describe the benefits of each option, such as convenience, shared viewing, or a cinema release. Learning common collocations and checking word forms will help you express familiar ideas more naturally and reduce the effort required of the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast between online viewing and cinema-going. However, the range is limited, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in examples such as “many peoples argue,” “they love to go theatres to saw movies,” and “they are love to enjoy.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “because is there any new movie released the theatre plays in different dates.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and review past-tense forms, subject–verb agreement, and articles. Then combine ideas using controlled clauses such as “although” or “because.”
