Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both sides of the debate and state a clear preference: cinemas and theatres remain important because they offer a different experience. However, the response addresses the task only minimally. The online-entertainment view is briefly linked to subscriptions and comfort, while the claim about economic and cultural importance is not explained. The personal example about visiting a theatre with your grandmother begins but is unfinished, so it does not provide relevant support. The response also falls 115 words short of the required minimum, leaving the discussion and your reasons substantially incomplete. To strengthen this, explain each view with a specific reason or example, develop your own position, and complete the essay with a conclusion that directly answers the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces the issue and your opinion, followed by paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand.” These signposts help the reader recognise the two perspectives. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the ideas are very brief, the final example stops mid-thought, and there is no concluding paragraph. Some connections are unclear, such as how subscription costs support the claim that cinemas are obsolete. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain how it relates to the question, and use linking phrases to show the relationship between reasons and examples. Completing the final paragraph and adding a conclusion would make the overall structure more coherent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital world,” “subscriptions,” “comfort-zone,” and “culturally,” and you attempt to express ideas such as the experience of visiting a theatre. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, for example “ecnomically,” “experenice,” and “lifetime expereince.” Phrases such as “cinemas and theater” are also repeated rather than varied. Aim for accurate topic vocabulary and natural combinations, such as “the live performance experience” or “contribute to the local economy.” Proofread spelling and choose words that express your intended meaning precisely; this will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to form complex sentences, particularly in the opening, where you connect opposing views with “because” and “while.” However, the range of structures remains limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “cinemas and theater to help the country” lacks a correctly formed verb, while “its give you” has problems with subject–verb agreement and pronoun form. There are also issues with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “she is meticulous women.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using conjunctions. Check that every clause has a subject and verb, and review agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
