Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear opinion—“I strongly agree” that theatres and cinemas remain necessary—and you begin to discuss the convenience of online viewing as well as the cultural and economic value of venues. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the online-viewing argument is illustrated with comfort and convenience, while the opposing view is introduced but not explained. The final paragraph stops mid-sentence at “The closer of the cinemas and theators results in,” so there is no completed discussion of the economic or cultural effects and no conclusion. The response is also 59 words below the required minimum. To develop the answer, explain both views with specific reasons and examples, complete the argument, and summarise your position in a conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an identifiable structure: an opening paragraph, a paragraph about watching films at home, and a transition to the importance of cinemas. Phrases such as “For instance” and “In the meantime” attempt to connect ideas and signal development. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph ends abruptly, leaving the second side of the discussion unfinished and the essay without a conclusion. Some links are also unclear: “these” in the introduction does not clearly identify what it refers to, and “In the meantime” does not express the contrast needed between the two views. Use clear topic sentences, connect each reason to its explanation, and finish with a concluding paragraph that brings the discussion together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “availability,” “advancedment of the IT industry,” “economical and cultural value,” and “positive atmosphere.” These choices show an effort to discuss technology and the role of entertainment venues. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to distract the reader, as in “plateforms,” “necesity,” “theatures,” “econimcally,” and “imporvise.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “entertain the brain” and “the requirement of theatres.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example, “online streaming services,” “the continued relevance of cinemas,” and “provide entertainment.” Proofreading and learning vocabulary in phrases will improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, such as “even if the smart screens entertain the brain … while saving our energy and time” and the sentence beginning “For instance.” This shows some willingness to vary sentence forms. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and several sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “It is often argued the requirement,” which lacks a suitable clause structure, “The presence of a wider screen at home support,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “The closer … results in,” which is incomplete. Articles and sentence construction also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
