Student answer (Band 5.5)

in recent years, some people assume that theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. while on the otherhand people disagree with that as they saytheatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. well there are some major agreements and disagreements in the following topic as been discussed below.

firstly in my view watching all entertainment shows, movies , documentaries and etc, are very convenient as well as it cost comparatively cheap as compared to watching it in theatres. meanwhile i strongly agree that watching all this shows and movies in a theatre provides a different and very comforting experience and i personally love it but yet it is not the best for many peoples convenience.

one of the main reason, why people opting for watching all this shows online is beacuse of convenience in terms of time , comfort and cost/price. people are willing to pay for the experience but nowadays, their has been so much rush in theatre that ruins the most of the experience because majorly people are going to theatres at night after doing work all day and then find long que for entrance , in the cafetaria even for the waashroom their are significant people waiting for their turn as their are bunch of people present their and many theatre do not have big washrooms that can accumulate a ton of people at the same time. all this reasons are very concerning to some people and they choose their comfort by watching it online.

yet, their is a category of cinematic enthusiast who can do this slight sacfrice on their comfort wwhile enjoying their experience at the peak. Their is an another thing on which majority of people dosent give their thoughts that we should show respect and apreciation to the filmmakers who have given their years in making all that striking content and the least we can do is to go to theatre and watch their piece of art with many other keen aundience and have a review on it.

so, we can conclude that watching content online is for people who have comfort as their main priority while people should definetly experience the theatre ambience and the true aura of the piece of content that they are witnessing and this is how we as audience really apreciate the filmmakers behind it.In my view i love to go to the theatres to watch movies while enjoying many variety of snacks yet sometimes in some hectic days i find watching movies online pretty more satisfying.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a personal position: online viewing is convenient, while cinemas offer a distinctive experience and support filmmakers. The examples about queues, comfort and your own preference make the discussion relevant. However, the economic side of the prompt is barely addressed; the essay focuses mainly on individual convenience and cultural appreciation, without explaining how theatres contribute economically or how online entertainment affects that contribution. Some points are also asserted rather than developed—for example, the filmmakers’ years of work are mentioned, but the link between cinema attendance and supporting them could be explained more clearly. Develop both sides more evenly and make your position explicit earlier to strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the main ideas can generally be followed. Paragraphs group related points, such as the practical reasons for watching online and the appeal of the cinema experience. However, progression is weakened by repetitive or awkward linking, including “firstly,” “meanwhile,” “yet” and “so,” which sometimes do not show the relationship between ideas precisely. The long paragraph about queues also combines several examples without a clear hierarchy, while the final paragraph introduces appreciation for filmmakers rather abruptly. Use clearer topic sentences, divide or organise supporting details, and make references such as “all this” more precise so the argument develops more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “convenience,” “cinematic enthusiast,” “ambience” and “piece of art,” and you attempt to express distinctions between comfort and cultural experience. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “shows” and “experience,” and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “major agreements and disagreements,” “comforting experience” and “accumulate a ton of people.” Spelling errors—including “beacuse,” “sacfrice” and “appreciation”—also reduce control. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, describe cinema as a “shared viewing experience” and queues as “long waiting lines.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses explaining why people choose online viewing and a contrast between convenience and the cinema experience. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “it cost comparatively cheap,” “their has been so much rush,” and “many theatre do not have big washrooms,” where verb forms, agreement and sentence construction are faulty. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, and some sentences run on, particularly the final sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and break long sentences into shorter units. Careful editing would make your ideas easier to follow.
