Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, few individuals believe that theatres and cinemas are no longer play significant role in people's lives because people can watch entertainment online. However, others think they still play an important role in the economy and culture. In my opinion, although online entertainment is convienient, Theatres and cinemas are still valuable for the society.

To commence with, there are many wonderful associated with this trend that online platforms are more convienient, It gives you a accessibility to watch your favorite show anytime or anywhere. This is more convienient for people and time consuming. Online has many platforms where you can watch new movies on the same releasing day. People can watch movies without travelling. In additon, it is reduce your cost and save money. online movies can save your money and while sitting in your home you can enjoy your favorite movie. For example, while watching movie in cimea people spend money on food also such as pocorn. As a result, it helps you to enjoy movie in free of coast.

However, there are many people believe that cinemas still play important role in ecocnomy and cuture. Firstly, wactching movie in cinemas give you a big screen experience with good sound systen and 3d effect visions. watching movies in cinemas not only provide you a cosy experiences but also grow film industry. That money grow economy. Secondly, it promotes all culture. people can watch any religious movie in theatre so it promotes all traditions and cultures. Cinemas realease all cultural movies. For example, many tamil loves to watch Punjabi actor Diljit films in cinemas even they not in same culture. Therefore, cinemas preserve our cuture and history.

In conclusion, although there are many online platforms are convienient and cost save. I strongly believe cinemas and theatres still play important role in our culture and economy. It promotes all culutres and help to groe economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: online viewing is convenient, but theatres and cinemas remain valuable to society. The online paragraph gives relevant reasons, including flexible viewing times, avoiding travel and saving money; the cinema paragraph adds the large-screen experience, employment/economic benefits and cultural examples. This covers the task, but some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that cinemas “promotes all culture” and preserves history would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how films represent or sustain cultural traditions. The economic argument also needs a more specific link between cinema revenue and wider economic benefits. Develop these ideas with precise examples and explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for online entertainment, one for cinemas, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposts such as “However,” “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the two sides. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, and ideas within paragraphs do not always progress smoothly. For example, “This is more convenient for people and time consuming” is difficult to interpret, while “That money grow economy” does not clearly connect cinema attendance to economic impact. The conclusion repeats the main claims rather than drawing them together. Use clearer referencing and link each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “accessibility,” “big screen experience,” “sound system,” “3D effect,” and “traditions and cultures.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both practical and cultural aspects. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response less clear, such as “wonderful associated with this trend,” “free of coast,” and “cosy experiences.” There are also repeated forms of “convenient,” “culture,” and “movie,” which reduces flexibility. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations; for example, describe online viewing as “cost-effective” and cinema attendance as supporting “the film industry.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although online entertainment is convenient”) and a reason clause beginning “because.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some sentence structures and grammatical patterns are inaccurate. Examples include “theatres and cinemas are no longer play significant role,” “It gives you a accessibility,” and “there are many people believe.” Subject–verb agreement and article use also need attention, as in “watching movie in cinemas give you” and “it helps you to enjoy movie.” Some punctuation choices, particularly commas joining separate clauses, make sentences harder to follow. Practise building accurate clauses first, then check articles, agreement and sentence boundaries.
