Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: online entertainment is convenient, but cinemas and theatres remain important for the economy and culture. The examples of streaming platforms and ticket purchases are relevant, and the conclusion reinforces your preference for supporting traditional venues. However, the two views are not developed equally. The benefits of online entertainment are explained through variety and access, while the economic and cultural claims about venues are mostly asserted; explain more specifically how jobs, revenue, or shared cultural experiences result. Your position could also be clearer about whether online entertainment can complement, rather than replace, cinemas. This would make the response more fully developed and balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall sense of progression, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. However, some links are mechanical or confusing. For example, “Additionally” and “Howeven” do not clearly show how the ideas relate, and “though … but” creates an awkward connection. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from drawbacks of online viewing to employment, revenue, and cultural heritage without clearly linking these points. Use fewer formulaic transitions and organise each paragraph around a clear main idea, with explanations and examples that follow it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “wider variety of content,” “employment opportunities,” “revenue,” and “cultural heritage.” These choices show an effort to discuss both the economic and cultural dimensions of the topic. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear, as in “breakthough,” “enthusiam,” “platformes,” and “predominent.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “more devote into online entertainment” and “foster people keep update.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than adding ambitious vocabulary where the phrasing is uncertain. Proofreading spelling and checking how verbs combine with their objects would make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses such as “though watching films online …” and explanatory clauses introduced by “because.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms recur, and several sentences are difficult to read smoothly. For example, “theatres and cinemas are still play a crucial role” combines incompatible verb forms, while “it not only introduce them … but also consume” has problems with agreement and parallel structure. The sentence beginning “though … but” also uses two contrasting markers where one is needed. Work on subject–verb agreement, consistent verb patterns, and building one clear clause at a time; then check punctuation and sentence boundaries.
