Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a relevant opinion: cinemas remain important because they bring people together and offer a break from routine. You also discuss online entertainment, mentioning convenience and access to films, so both views are recognisable. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The economic importance of cinemas is reduced to “providing some amount tax,” without explaining employment, business revenue, or wider effects. The cultural case is also asserted rather than illustrated, and the example about busy families is not clearly connected to cultural value. Your position is clearest in the introduction and conclusion, but the reasons supporting it need fuller explanation and more specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, the shift from watching films online to playing video games broadens the point without explaining its relevance, while “Furthermore” introduces the economic claim without developing a clear link to the preceding family argument. Some references, such as “it” in “it also play vital role on economy,” are not immediately clear. Make each paragraph progress from a main claim to explanation and a directly relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general discussion, including “digital age,” “reliable internet,” “daily routine,” and “quality time.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “vital role” and “refreshment.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “no more important,” “premium show,” “sent time,” and “providing some amount tax” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors, including “valuable,” “anxiety,” and “responsibility,” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing convenience, cultural value, and economic contribution, then check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “as,” and “when,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Many of the houses have smart phone and reliable internet as they can easily search” has problems with articles, plurals, and the relationship between clauses. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “it play” and “theatres is,” while “people … wants” and “need some refreshment” show further agreement or sentence-structure problems. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete clause connections; use punctuation to separate ideas.
