Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the film industry gives a wider range of entertainment to the people. People can enjoy any films, series and movies in cinemas and theatres. Some individuals believe that people can enjoy any type of films and series online, so the theatres and cinema is no longer a particular choice for people, while some individuals believe that the offline platform of the film industry is important for economic and cultural growth in the world. In further essay, I shed some light on both the views. However, I highly choose to go with the online entertainment.
Firstly, online platforms give a convenient way to watch any movies, series, documentary films on anytime and anywhere. People do not have to travel to the cinemas and theatres for entertainment, so people can save their time and money by travelling less. Secondly, the subscriptions of the online platforms is cheaper than cinemas and theatres so, it is cost-effective for people. People do not have to waste their money on snacks and transport. Families can enjoy entertainment together without wasting more money and people can enjoy more time together. Online platforms provide more options to watch such as international films, documentaries, series and educational films.
on the other hand, Cinemas offer large screens and better sound quality as compared to online platforms. People can enjoy high-quality visuals and effects and also people can enjoy the 3D effects of movies. Theatres and cinemas are important economically because it provides employment forpeople such as ticket sellers, technicians, cleaners and other workers. Offline industries support the film industry such as actor-actress, directors, producers and distributers. Cinemas help to preserve and promote local culture and language around the world. Going to the cinema is a social activity that friends and family can enjoy together.
According to my perspective, online platforms are very easy to use and cost-effective for people who have hectic schedules in their lives. People can save their time by watching films online.
In conclusion, people can use online platforms to entertain their selves but offline film industry is also important for economic and culture growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for online entertainment, especially in the introduction and the paragraph beginning “According to my perspective.” Your points about convenience, cost, employment, and cultural preservation are relevant. However, the two views are not developed equally: the case for online viewing has several supporting details, while the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is mostly listed rather than explained. For example, you name cinema jobs but do not show how these venues contribute more broadly to the economy. Your opinion is also repeated rather than fully justified against the opposing view. Develop fewer points with specific examples and explain why online entertainment is ultimately more persuasive to you.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the overall argument easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “on the other hand.” However, some linking feels mechanical, and the final opinion paragraph repeats the convenience and time-saving points without connecting them clearly to the earlier discussion. The transition into the opposing view is also weakened by the lowercase “on” after a paragraph break. Use a wider range of transitions to show relationships between ideas, and make each paragraph build toward your conclusion. Clearer references and less repetition would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “subscriptions,” “cost-effective,” “employment,” “3D effects,” and “preserve and promote local culture.” These choices help communicate the main points. However, several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “any type of films and series,” “offline platform of the film industry,” and “waste their money on snacks.” There are also awkward collocations and word forms, including “highly choose to go with” and “economic and culture growth.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for more accurate topic collocations and vary repeated words such as “people,” “films,” and “platforms.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses of reason and result: “People do not have to travel … so people can save their time and money.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the theatres and cinema is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “the subscriptions … is cheaper” also needs agreement. Articles and plural forms are inconsistent in “any movies” and “theatres and cinema,” while “people can entertain their selves” has an incorrect reflexive pronoun. Punctuation and capitalisation also need attention, particularly the lowercase “on the other hand” at the start of a paragraph. Review agreement, articles, and pronouns, then proofread sentence boundaries and capitals.
