Student answer (Band 5.5)
The majority of individuals believe that in recent years theatres and cinemas are not essential as before because they can watch all kinds of entertainment online. In contrast, others claim that theatres and cinemas are still important for the economy and the cultural well-being. I think cinemas and other entertainment sources have a significant role in our social life as well as the economy of the country.
Firstly,It is true that nowadays every kinds of entertainment contents are available online . As a result we can watch any types of movies or serieses anytime we want. It has some favourable sides,as we do not need to go outside for cinemas or theatres it saves lot of our times and money. Due to the availability of movies on social platforms we do not need to bys tickets and pay the bill of transportation. We can stay at home and enjoy the time with family and friends. However, with the good impacts ,there is some serious disadvantages as well.
Since , the cinemas and theatres are so easy to access,we are losing the interest to go on cinema hall. In effect, the authorities are facing difficulties to earn the money they spent by making the movie or series. However, they are losing interest to make good contents or trying to do better. In addition, as the workers do not get enough reward for their work, they no longer want to choose this profession. It is harmful for the economy of the country, because a huge amount of money from these source go to the economic betterment. Additionally,as the creative individualas do not want to work in these professions,we are losing the cultual beauty and the legacy of our tradition.
In conclusion, we should work on our cinema halls and try to rennovate them in a way that viewers get attracted so that the beauty of cultural activities stay alive and we find the economic freedom.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a relevant position—that cinemas and other entertainment sources matter socially and economically—and explain some consequences of online viewing, including reduced income for film-makers and fewer people entering creative professions. These points address the topic, but the discussion is only partial: the advantages of online entertainment are described, while the case for theatres’ and cinemas’ continuing cultural and economic importance is not developed as a distinct, balanced view. The conclusion calls for renovating cinemas but does not explain how this would address the earlier concerns or clearly restate your judgement on both sides. Develop each view with specific reasoning or an example, then connect your opinion directly to that comparison.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to discussion of online access, its possible effects, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In contrast,” “As a result,” and “In addition” help signal relationships between points. However, progression is sometimes difficult to follow: the second body paragraph shifts from cinema attendance to producers’ earnings, workers’ choices, the economy, and cultural heritage without clearly showing how each point connects. “However” is also used where the relationship is not always a contrast. Paragraphing would be more effective if one paragraph presented the online-viewing argument and another developed the continuing value of cinemas, with clearer links between claims and explanations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “cultural well-being,” “authorities,” “economic betterment,” and “legacy of our tradition.” This gives you a basis for discussing the economic and cultural dimensions of the question. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “serieses,” “pay the bill of transportation,” and “economic freedom.” Spelling errors, including “cultual” and “rennovate,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check word forms and spelling; for example, use “television series,” “transport costs,” and “economic contribution.” This would make your ideas easier to understand and more natural in an academic discussion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional-purpose construction in the conclusion (“so that…”). However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “every kinds … are available,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “we do not need to go outside for cinemas,” which has an unclear grammatical pattern. Some sentences also join ideas awkwardly, as in “However, they are losing interest to make good contents.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence openings. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then build longer sentences from clearly connected clauses.
