Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that, the digital advancement of present days undermined the significance of traditional theatres and cinemas as they can entertained online as their convenience while others belive theatres and cinemas are as significant both commercially and culturally as they were in past. My believe strongly aligned with the second statement.

There are some possible reasons behind the arguement on theatres and cinemas are no longer at their past importance since people can access online easily for their entertainment for free. Pandemic enhanced this view in a large scale while people stayed at home and engaged themselves with seeing contents online. Furthermore, there are no conveyance or ticket costs to cinemas or theatres if they watch contents online. They can watch when they want as there is no time barrier. People can have snacks or drink or even can pause cinema thake a break doing other works and start again from where they stopped. These conveniences make them comfortable with believing that in the digital age online platforms are more easy way to be entertained. The Revenue from online only can distribute to the particular paersons involving with the streaming operations.

Despite these traditional theatres and cinemas are still have the appeal as they have in past. It is a quick refreshment hangout opportunities for family while the friends and family members can enjoy and spend their quality time together, collect memories to cherish and have some fuchka or chat masala after the show. This can still provide the same feeling of love and bonding among them like in the past. Local threatres and cinemas are strong source of local employment with hawkers, show arrangers and so on. The utmost feeling of seeing characters on large sacle is a vast experience for anyone while laptop or mobile screen can provide the same range of screening and feeling as well.

In conclusion, there are some positive outcomes of online entertainment, I would argue that it should not ever replace traditional theatres and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your position clearly: “My believe strongly aligned with the second statement,” reinforced by your conclusion that online entertainment should not replace theatres and cinemas. The online-view paragraph gives relevant reasons, including convenience, lower costs and the ability to pause a film; the opposing paragraph adds social, employment and large-screen benefits. This covers the task, but the two sides are not developed equally. For example, the claim that streaming revenue benefits people involved in its operations is unclear and not explained, while the cultural importance of theatres is only touched on through shared memories. Develop these points with a specific example and explain more directly how cinemas contribute culturally as well as economically.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrast between “There are some possible reasons” and “Despite these traditional theatres and cinemas” helps signal the discussion, and the main ideas are generally grouped appropriately. However, some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly “The Revenue from online only can distribute to the particular paersons,” which interrupts the progression of the online-entertainment paragraph. The transition beginning “Despite” is also grammatically incomplete, making the shift less smooth. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim. More precise referencing would also help readers follow who benefits from streaming revenue.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “digital advancement,” “local employment,” “quality time,” and “large scale,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also some inaccurate word choices, collocations and spellings that make the expression less natural, such as “conveyance” for travel, “quick refreshment hangout opportunities,” and “large sacle.” “Theatres and cinemas” and “online” are repeated often, so more controlled paraphrasing would improve flexibility. Aim to learn common collocations in context and check spelling carefully. For instance, “a source of local employment” is more natural than “strong source,” while “a shared social experience” could express the family-bonding point more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “while,” “since” and “as,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction reduce accuracy. Examples include “they can entertained online,” “traditional theatres and cinemas are still have the appeal,” and “My believe strongly aligned,” where the verb patterns are faulty. The opening also has an unnecessary comma after “argued,” and the sentence beginning “Despite” lacks a complete grammatical structure. Practise building accurate clauses before adding extra detail, and check that each sentence has a correctly formed subject and verb. This will make your complex ideas clearer.
