Student answer (Band 5.0)

In modern era, for the entertainment of the people theates and cinemas are important. Some people agree with the fact that theatres and cinemas are important while othes tends to disagree with this statement. In my opinion, i agree and disagree with the statement at the same time. I will give the reasons for my opinion in the following paragraphs.

To commence with, there are some aspects of going to the cinemas and theatres. It is a matter of everyday observation that people in this generation have many problems in their daily lifes and for their mental and physical health and fitness they have to spend some time in their entertainment. Moreover, there are also good things we can learn from going to theates and cinemas like all of the crowd there is just present for a single motive. For eample, all of the crowd in the theatres and cinemas are present to watch the movies and they have a wonderful experience as the theatres and cinemas are build for the best of the entertainment for people. Theratres and cinemas are made only for the purpose to entertain people and to give the best experience that a person wont get while staying in home. Therefore, having to spend time in theatres and cinemas have many benefits of their own for a person.

In the contrast, there is some negativity in it. As we all know that people tend to waste their time alot in theatres and cinemas. For instance, people usually waste alot of their money for going to theatres and watch a movie. In addition, some people think that if we can watch movies in owr homes now so why waste money and time going to a theatre. To demonstrate, some people tink of it as a wastage of time. Hence, some people have negative thoughts for going to the cinema.

In the view of the above discussion, it can be concluded that going to theatres and cinemas for entertainment is good for mental health but over use of this digital ages products we can get bad habbits and tends to distrow our routine. From my opinion, we should go to theatres with our family in our free time but not got to cinemas very often.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give a personal view, especially in the conclusion, where you recommend going with family but not too often. However, the task asks you to discuss both the online-entertainment view and the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas. Your response mainly discusses the experience of attending and the cost or time involved; it does not explain the economic or cultural arguments, and the online alternative is mentioned only briefly. The opening claim that you “agree and disagree” also leaves your position unclear until the end. Develop each side with specific reasons and examples, then state a consistent opinion and explain how it follows from your discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Hence” helps readers follow the broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: the first body paragraph repeatedly says cinemas provide entertainment and a good experience without adding distinct supporting points. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “In the contrast” and “In the view of the above discussion.” The conclusion introduces “digital ages products” and bad habits without clearly connecting these ideas to the earlier discussion. Organise each paragraph around one clear claim, explain it, and use more precise references and transitions to show how ideas relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “entertainment,” “mental health,” “waste their time,” and “free time,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “theatres and cinemas” and “people.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “theates,” “eample,” “wastage,” and “habbits,” which can distract the reader. Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, for example “all of the crowd … is just present for a single motive” and “over use of this digital ages products.” Build a more accurate range for discussing online access, shared cultural experiences, and economic effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, using clauses introduced by “as,” “while,” and “if.” Nevertheless, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include “oth[e]rs tends to disagree,” “people … have many problems … and … they have to spend,” and “having to spend time … have many benefits,” where agreement or sentence construction is faulty. Articles and prepositions are also unreliable, as in “staying in home” and “In the contrast.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention too, including the lowercase “i” and the long opening sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences from clear, manageable clauses.
