Student answer (Band 5.0)
THIS IS ARGUED BY SOME PEOPLE THAT WATCHING MOVIES OR ENTERTAINMENT WEBSERIES ARE NO LONGER IMPORTANT AS PEOPLE CAN WATCH ONLINE BUT OTHER ARGUE THAT THEATRES AND CINIMAS ARE STILL IMPORTANT ON THE BASES OF GENERATING ECONOMY AND ALSO IMPORTANT FOR CULTUR EXCHANGE. BUT I BLIEVE THAT TECHNOLOGY CAN CHANGE THE WAY OF THINKING TO VISIT MOVIES OR SERIES ON THE CINEMAS AND THEATRES.
ON THE ONE HAND, CINIMA AND THEATRES ARE FIRST LOVE OF EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO WATCH MOVIES OR WEB SERIES. AND IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE BEST EXPERIENCE AND IN VERY LOW COST. FOR EXAMPLE, IN INDIA THEIR ARE MANY THEATRES AND CINEMAS WHICH IS VER POPULAR TO WATCH MOVIES ON THEM AND IT IS VERY COST EFFICTIVE RATHER THAN BUYING SUBSCRIPTION OF NETFLIX AND OTHER OTT PLATFORMS WHICH CONSUME MORE MONEY TO WATCH MOVIES.
ON THE OTHER HAND, PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT CINIMA AND THEATRES SHOULD NOT LONGER BECAUSE OF TECHNOLOGY REALLY IMPACT. TECHNOLOGY OFFERS ZERO DISTURBANCE TO VISIT MOVIE. FOR EXAMPLE, THEY PROVIDE BEST EXPRIENCE AS COMPARE T CINIMAS. THEY GIVE ZERO NOICE POLLUTION AND THEY DID NOT DISTURB ANYBODY. AND THAT IS WHY MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT ONLINE SYSTEM REALLY IMPACT AND ALSO IMPECT OUR LIME ACTIVITIES LIKE THEY HELP TO DECREASE OUR TIME OF TRAVEL TO THE CINEMAS HALL IN THE CITIES OR TOWN.
IN CONCLUSION, I BLIEVE THAT TECHNOLOGY AND ONLICE THINGS REALLY IMPACT ON THEATRES AND CINEMAS BECAUSE OF ZERO DISTURBANCE AND LOW EFFECTIVE. AND WATCHING ONLINE MOVIES AT HOME REALLY HELP TO DECREASE OUR TIME OF TRAVELLING TO OUR HOME TO THE WATCHING PLATFORMS IN THE CITIES OR TOWN.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a view, particularly in the introduction and conclusion, where you favour online viewing because it avoids disturbance and travel. However, the position is not fully clear: the introduction says technology can change people’s thinking about visiting cinemas, while the first body paragraph calls cinemas the “first love of everyone” and praises their experience and cost. The economic and cultural importance named in the prompt is not explained with supporting reasons; instead, the paragraph focuses mainly on affordability. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a relevant example, and state directly whether you believe online entertainment replaces cinemas or simply changes how people use them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the discussion’s structure. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are repeated rather than developed. For example, the conclusion repeats the points about avoiding disturbance and reducing travel without resolving the contrast with the earlier claim that cinemas offer the best experience. Some links between claims and examples are also difficult to follow. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, explain it, and then show how the example supports it. Use clear references and avoid repeating the same benefit in multiple sections.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “subscription,” “OTT platforms,” “noise pollution,” and “time of travel,” so the reader can identify the main subject and several supporting points. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “low effective,” “online system really impact,” and “first love of everyone.” Spelling errors, including “cinima,” “blieve,” and “exprice,” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for precise phrases such as “cost-effective,” “have a significant impact,” and “a popular choice.” Check spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that expresses the intended comparison directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “Technology offers zero disturbance to visit movie.” However, the longer constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms can make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “watching movies or entertainment webseries are,” “there are many theatres … which is,” and “they did not disturb anybody.” Several sentences also lack clear grammatical connections between ideas. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” or “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
