Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, individuals are able to entertain themselves with variety of content on the internet. Some believe that tradtional theatres and cinemas have lost their significance due to convience and affordability of online entertainment options, while others suggest that theatres and cinemas are important for the local economy and culture.
The first group of people suggest that the internet has a wider veriety of conent to watch at afforable prices with convience. We can watch not only movies and plays, but also tv shows, documentaries, etcetera on the online platforms. These platforms often charge as much as a movie ticket would, and provide access to all the content. Also, people can watch movies in their private environment in whatever way they like. This makes online platforms cost effective, and convenient option. To exemplify, one-month subscription of Netflix charge [redacted phone] INR. With such subscription, viewers can watch all the shows, movies available on their platform, whereas in theatre that same money could have bought one ticket for a movie.
The second group of people argue that shifting attitude of viewers still does not make theatres and cinemas insignificant.
Accordign to them, watching movies on big screens and plays live in theatres are different type of experiences. Therefore, online platform can never provide viewers with that experience. For instance, people who prefer to watch movies and plays in traditional method, would purchase tickets even if it costs high. Those tickets contributes in the local economy and makes it stronger. Also, cinemas and plays are part of the local traditions and cultures, which is unchangable by online entertainment.
In my view, while online platforms allows more individual to watch content, it does not affect those who prefer watching movies and plays traditionally. Furthermore, it increases the value of skills involved in performing theatre plays, which crucial part of the local cultures. No matter, what new alternatives emerge for viewers, the value of art and artists is not bothered at all.
In conclusion, although the internet can be a new, convenient and affordable way to get entertain, importance of theatres and cinemas is not changed at all.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear personal position: online entertainment is convenient, but it does not remove the value of traditional venues. The Netflix subscription comparison and the point about live performance provide relevant support. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The economic argument is mainly that ticket purchases strengthen the local economy, without explaining how venues support jobs or related businesses. The cultural claim that theatres are part of local traditions is also asserted rather than illustrated. Your opinion is clear, but the claim that online platforms increase the value of performance skills needs explanation. Develop these points with specific examples and show more clearly how the economic and cultural benefits operate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, your opinion, and a conclusion. Topic sentences such as “The first group of people suggest” and “The second group of people argue” make the discussion easy to follow, and linking expressions including “Also,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some flexibility in organising the argument. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is mechanical, with several points joined by “Also” rather than developed through clearer cause-and-effect links. The shift from the second view to your opinion could also be smoother. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “affordability,” “subscription,” “local economy,” and “traditional method,” and the reader can understand your main points. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “shifting attitude” and “performing theatre plays.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “tradtional,” “convience,” “veriety,” and “un changable,” and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward. For example, “get entertain” and “the value of art and artists is not bothered” do not express your intended meaning naturally. This limits precision and can make parts of the argument less clear. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing cultural value, audience experience, and economic impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a contrast clause beginning “while” and a relative clause in “which crucial part of the local cultures.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “one-month subscription … charge” and “Those tickets contributes”; the latter also needs a plural verb. Articles and sentence structure need attention in “This makes online platforms cost effective, and convenient option” and “which crucial part.” The final paragraph also contains a comma that interrupts the phrase “No matter, what new alternatives emerge.” These errors do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Practise checking agreement, articles, and clause construction, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
