Student answer (Band 6.0)

Art is an integral part of a society and everyone is inclined towards it to a great extent. Owing to this, it is argued that all of the entertainment is accessible online, and theaters and cinemas are not widely visited by people these days. While opponents states that film and drama houses are still excellent means of recreation both economically and culturally. This essay will examine both views before making a conclusion.

To begin with the former viewpoint, where modern era is preferably more inclined towards watching movies, dramas or news bulletans online. Moreover, this approach provides flexibility, as people do not have to anticipate for particular hours of onairing of episodes; they can download video, which can be watched at any time. For example, every TV channel uploads new episode or a particular game show on Youtube, which provide felxibility to the viewers. Thus, it is observed that people are no more interested in going to cinemas for entertainment; however, they can watch this content on their phones, LEDs or tablets.

Moving towards the latter perspective, where people narrate that art centres such as cinemas and theatres still hold their identity. Likewise, this practice is to save money, because users do not have to pay huge internet bill, they can purchase cinema's tickets at a cheaper rate. Similarly, entertainment hotspots also provide a chance to glorify the culture, as majority of ansectors were used to visit cinemas with a group of friends, which itself also another genuine mean of enjoyment, and one person enjoys more when with his companions, for example. That is to say, if people are economical and culture oriented, they should choose to visit art houses physically.

As far as I am concerned, I inclined towards former perspective, because internet provides all sources of entertainment while sitting in home, and we do no have to commute to a longer distance for watching movies.

In conclusion, both perspective hold their own importance as former narration offers flexibility while latter viewpoint suits best for those who want entertainment economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a preference for online entertainment: “I inclined towards former perspective.” The first side is supported with flexibility and access to uploaded programmes, while the second mentions cost and shared cultural enjoyment. However, the discussion does not fully match the question’s emphasis on theatres’ and cinemas’ economic and cultural importance. The economic point is unclear and arguably contradictory: you say cinema tickets are cheaper than internet bills without explaining the comparison, and the cultural point is only briefly asserted. Your opinion is also mainly about convenience, with little consideration of the opposing benefits. Develop each argument with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and make your position more fully reasoned.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moving towards,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify the main purpose of each paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several transitions feel formulaic, and some links between ideas are unclear. For instance, “Similarly” introduces a cultural claim after a point about saving money, while the long sentence beginning “Similarly, entertainment hotspots…” is difficult to follow. Use more precise referencing and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “flexibility,” “recreation,” “culture-oriented,” and “entertainment hotspots,” and the general meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is not consistently controlled, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or obscure the intended point. Examples include “news bulletans,” “anticipate for particular hours,” “glorify the culture,” and “genuine mean of enjoyment.” There are also spelling errors such as “felxibility” and “ansectors.” These issues make the vocabulary less precise than the task requires. Prefer familiar, accurate expressions where needed, and check spelling and collocations; for example, describe cinemas as “cultural venues” rather than using unclear phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex forms, including a relative clause in “which can be watched at any time” and a contrast introduced by “while.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors recur in sentence construction, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “opponents states” has a subject–verb agreement error, “I inclined towards” is missing an auxiliary, and “we do no have to commute” contains an incorrect verb form. Some sentences are also incomplete or awkwardly joined, particularly “That is to say, if people are economical and culture oriented…” and the extended sentence about entertainment hotspots. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement and auxiliaries, while retaining the complex structures you attempt.
