Student answer (Band 5.5)

Watching cinemas are always a nice activity for entertainement as well as the recreations. According to me, surprisingly cinemas can fixed my mood even very quickly. This is the modern era and now there have shown some arguement between the people that some of them think theatres and cinemas are no longer impportant as people can watch all the entertainment in online ,on the other hand some of them think it is still important. Though according to my point of view even though i am a girl of this genz generation I think cinemas and theatres are still very important .

First of all, some people think that the people who did theatrees they have taken this occupassion as their surving the live. There are so many people who earn money by doing theatre as well as by theatre their acting proficiency has been improving day by day. There was a time people got chance on big projects after proving their acting skills on theatre. Besides, watching cinemas in cinemahall is a another kind of thrilling and pleasurable moment for me personally as well.It could be a nice family time to go out for cinemas in theatre and a good activity to do with family. Also, its a necessary part for us in this modern era to spent some time with family. For example, after a hectic week spending some times with parents or friends by watching a favourite movie even it is not need to be it has to be soo good movie rather its could be a good quality time to be realaxed and forming good bonding. Moreover, if people go out for waching cinemas and theatre it will be good for economy as well. From the selling money of tickets ,the producers will find more confidence to give more amazing cinemas to the audiance.

On the other hand, another porttion of people thought it is waste of time as they thought they can watch all the entertainment in online if they want. They find it easy and by eating popcorn or favourite dishes to watching their favourite shows on online in any time. They find it relaxing after the long hectic day even.Though it seems good in some sences but not so good for their personal life as well as their family life. Because, they find their entertainment very personally and dont think to give time to their parents.

Thus, I personally think theatres and cinemas both are very important and it always should be. Because it could keep a good family bonding between the parents and the children. As well as from this some can earn money even in this digital age and also can help to grow our economy as well as by creating more cinemas by maintaing our tradition and cultures and also possible introduce to foreingers about our culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and make your position clear: you believe cinemas and theatres remain important. The response gives relevant reasons, including employment for performers, family outings, ticket revenue and the convenience of online viewing. These points meet the task, but they are not developed evenly. The economic and cultural importance is touched on, yet the cultural argument is mostly reduced to preserving traditions, without a specific example. The opposing view is also presented mainly as convenience and a possible effect on family life, rather than exploring why online entertainment may replace cinema-going. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason with a clearer cause-and-effect link or a concrete example, and address the cultural dimension more directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting theatres and cinemas, a paragraph presenting online viewing, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, progression within the long first body paragraph is uneven: it moves from performers’ livelihoods to family time and then to the economy, with limited signposting of how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “First of all,” “Besides,” and “Moreover” help, but their repeated use can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear, as in “from the selling money of tickets.” Consider separating the economic and social/cultural arguments into distinct paragraphs and using clearer transitions that show the relationship between each idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “acting skills,” “economy,” “family bonding,” and “digital age,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “important,” “good,” and “people,” while several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “watching cinemas,” “entertainment in online,” and “a another kind of thrilling.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “impportant,” “occupassion,” and “audiance,” which reduce the accuracy of the writing. Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing employment, cultural value and digital access, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast with “Though…” and a reason introduced by “Because…”. This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but complex structures are often not controlled, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “some people think that the people who did theatrees they have taken this occupassion” has an unclear clause structure, while “it always should be” uses an awkward verb pattern. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “a another kind” and the long sentence beginning “For example, after a hectic week…”. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate subordinate clauses and punctuation.
