Student answer (Band 5.5)

Unquestionably, every coin has two sides and so are the people. In this cutting edge era people try different modes of entertainment. However, many people argue that theartres and cinemas are more effective than other online sources of entertainment whereas other assume that cinemas and theatres are equally important for economically and culturally. This essay will compare and contrast both of the opinions along with my opinion will be discussed in a sensible conclusion.

To inaugurate with, it is irrefutable fact that with the elevation of techno-savy world, certain things has changed whether it is regarding education, music and entertainment etc. The top notch factor is that people love to enjoy movies by sitting at home. To elaborate it, because it gives them a sense of comfort and people watch movie without any interruption.Secondly, high cost in theatres is another striking point regarding watching films online. Neverthless, some movie theatres are expensive to watch. Consequently, people choose more sohisticated option afterward.

On the contrary, watching film in theatre is also a reliable factor for entertainment. Further oiling the wheels it improves the vision quality of movie. To justify it, rather than watching on small screen people should be experience the big screen along with many advance technology in it. Moreover, theatres and cinemas also boost economical health of a country. Furthermore, in cinema many people from different societies enjoy a certain movie under one roof which helps to create a sense of equality.

In a nutshell, although threatrea and cinemas represent clear picture of every film along with that it also helps to diminish the culturaly difference as well which might be useful for society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both perspectives: the first body paragraph explains the convenience and lower cost of watching films at home, while the next presents the cinema’s large-screen experience and its economic and social value. However, the discussion is only partial because several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that cinemas “boost economical health” is not supported with a specific reason or example. Your own position is also difficult to identify: the introduction promises an opinion, but the conclusion mainly repeats benefits of theatres and does not clearly state which view you support or how you weigh the two. State your position directly and develop each main point with a clear explanation or relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader follow the broad contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking expressions can feel mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, “To inaugurate with” and “Further oiling the wheels” draw attention to the linking rather than clarifying the relationship between ideas. The conclusion also begins with “although” but does not complete a clear contrast or resolve the discussion. Use simpler, more precise transitions, and make each paragraph develop one central point in a logical sequence, with the conclusion explicitly summarising your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “sense of comfort,” “striking point,” and “sense of equality,” and the topic is generally understandable. However, several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the reader pause: “techno-savy world,” “sohisticated option,” and “economical health” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There is also unnecessary use of formulaic phrases such as “every coin has two sides” and “oiling the wheels.” Aim for clear, accurate topic vocabulary rather than ornate expressions. For example, explain that online viewing is convenient or cost-effective, and specify how cinemas contribute to local employment or cultural life.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses and explanations, but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in “certain things has changed” and “people should be experience the big screen.” The opening phrase “and so are the people” does not form a clear grammatical comparison, while “although threatrea and cinemas represent clear picture … along with that” leaves the concluding sentence incomplete in structure. Punctuation also needs attention: there is no space after the full stop in “interruption.Secondly,” and some long sentences would be clearer if divided. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and complete, well-punctuated sentences.
