Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is being highly debated that theatres and cinemas are no longer needed in this high tecnologic era because everything is available on internet. While on the other hand some people belive that cinemas and theatres are still as important as they were in the past because they have a big impact on the economy and they are also historically important and i regardles of the strong arguments agree with later ones.

One on hand there are people who think that activities like watching a movie out in professional place is not that essential in a high digital world. The primary reason why many humans think like this is because they think of it as time being wasted. They are strongly concerned about time . The secondary reason why they come up with statements like its a time waste and not needed is because they can get there hands on film without being in a cinema or a theatre. For example people belive that in place of going to a theatre it is muuch better to go on hike beacause that they think is more productive. Further more they think a film can and should be watched in your comfort place rather than in a gathering. Most of these people tend to ignore communal activities.

One the other hand there are people who hold a view that watching movies in a theatre and a cinema is still really essential in a higly siturated world and should be continued. The primary reason they hold is that its a cultural and social event which should not be abondoned. They also think of it as a therapy. For instance someone who likes films feels a little unsturated he directly goes to a cinema because that is his way of relaxing. Futher more they go on to belive that it should be continued for the well being of the ecconomy as well as history and culture.

To sum all in there are indeed good arguments against going to a cinema in a highly technological world. But i still think it is essential and efficient in high tech world for people to take time out and go for watching a film because that keeps us human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your own position clear: you support keeping cinemas and theatres because of their social, cultural, and economic value. The first body paragraph explains why some people prefer online viewing, including convenience and the belief that cinema-going wastes time; the second presents the opposing view. These points are relevant, but some are not developed equally. For example, the economic and historical importance is asserted rather than explained, and the example of going hiking does not fully show why people consider online entertainment preferable. The claim that cinema can be “a therapy” also needs clarification or a more specific example. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each main point and connect examples more directly to the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. This makes the discussion easy to follow at a broad level. You also use signposting such as “One on hand,” “One the other hand,” and “To sum all in.” However, these transitions are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and several ideas within paragraphs are joined mechanically with “The primary reason,” “The secondary reason,” and “Further more.” Some references are unclear, such as “that is his way of relaxing,” where the connection to the preceding point could be more precise. Use a wider range of linking methods and organise each paragraph around a clear claim followed by explanation and a directly relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital world,” “communal activities,” “cultural and social event,” and “well being of the economy.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “highly siturated world,” “unsturated,” “professional place,” and “efficient in high tech world.” Spelling errors such as “tecnologic,” “belive,” and “abondoned” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; using fewer but more precise expressions will make your argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “rather than,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. For example, the opening sentence runs several ideas together without clear punctuation, while “For example people belive that in place of going to a theatre it is muuch better to go on hike because that they think is more productive” has a confusing clause structure. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a little unsturated he directly goes.” Practise separating complex ideas into complete sentences, and check articles, verb forms, and punctuation when editing.
