Student answer (Band 5.5)
IN MODREN DAYS, CINEMA AND THEATERS ARE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY IMPORTANT AS AUDIENCE CAN GET ENTERTAINMENT ONLINE . THIS EASSY DISAGREES WITH THE STATEMENT BECAUSE CINEMAS STILL HOLD ECONOMICAL ADVANTAGE AND ENTERTAIN GREATER NUMBER OF PEOPLE.
TECHNOLOGY HAS ADVANCED SO HAS ENTERTAINMENT SOURCES SUCH AS STREAMING WEBSITES NETFLIX,YOUTUBE AUDIENCE COULD ENJOY A NICE MOVIE FROM THEIR HOME . EVERYTHING IS ACCESEBLE TO PEOPLE . IT ALSO SAVES CONSUMERS COST AS A MOVIE TICKET IN I8 MARKAZ IS 1500 RUPESS AND 1200 IN CENTAURUS BUT A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION OD NETFLIX IS 1000 RUPESS FOR WHOLE FAMILY . IT ALSO BENEFITS AUDIENCE AS DONT HAVE TO DRIVE TO THEATER TO WATCH A MOVIE
ECONOMICALLY CINEMAS ARE FAR SUPERIOR THAN ONLINE WEBSITES . IT HELPS IN GENERATING MONEY WHICH LEAD TO STRONG ECONOMY OF COUNTRY AND ALSO BENEFIT THE THEATERS OWNERS . SURVEY TAKEN IN 2020 STATED 60 PERCENT OF MONEY ALLOCATED IN MOVIE MAKING WAS EQUALL TO TICKETS BOUGHT .
IN THEATER AUDIENCE COULD ENJOY FILM OR DRAMA WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT . CONSUMERS COULD WATCH MOVIE WITH UPTO 50 OR 60 FRIENDS . OLD SCHOOL FELLOWS STILL LOVE TO VISIT CINEMA IT ALSO GAVES YOU FEELING OF NOSTALGIA .
CULTURALLY IT IS A SHARED EXPERIENCED . CINEMA OFFERS 3D QUALITY AND SOUND WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE IN HOME . ONLINE IS COMPLEMENT, NOT REPLACEMENT
DIGITAL AGE CHANGED ENTERTAINMENT BUT DOESNOT KILL THE IMPORTANCE OF THEATER

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear overall view that cinemas remain important, and you discuss online convenience and affordability as well as cinemas’ economic and social value. However, the two sides are not developed evenly: the online argument is supported with ticket and subscription prices, while the economic claim about cinemas relies on a brief, unexplained survey statistic. The cultural discussion is also short, and the point about 3D and sound is not fully connected to cultural importance. The response is 236 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example, and make your position explicit throughout rather than relying mainly on the opening and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces a position, considers online viewing, then discusses cinemas’ economic and social benefits before concluding. This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, paragraphing and progression are uneven: the cultural point and the statement “Online is complement, not replacement” appear as abrupt, undeveloped fragments, and the final conclusion is very brief. Connections between claims are often missing, so the reader must infer how the survey supports the economic argument or how 3D viewing relates to culture. Use clear topic sentences and linking phrases to show contrast and cause, and group related ideas into complete paragraphs with a developed concluding sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “streaming websites,” “monthly subscription,” “generating money,” “friendly environment,” and “nostalgia.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “economical advantage,” “acceseble,” “equall,” and “shared experienced.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “greater number of people” and “money allocated in movie making was equal to tickets bought.” Aim for accurate topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help distinguish economic benefits, such as employment and revenue, from the cultural and social experience of attending a cinema.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence patterns, for example, “It also saves consumers cost as a movie ticket … is 1500 rupess,” and use simple statements to express your position. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “audience can get entertainment online,” “which lead to strong economy,” and “audience could enjoy film or drama”; these need more accurate articles and verb forms. Several sentences are run together without full stops, while other ideas are presented as fragments, such as “Online is complement, not replacement.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
