Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, a group of people think that in this modern period of time theatres and cinemas are no longer important to them as we all can enjoy movies and cinemas online on their phone and another group of people think that theatres are still very important for both our countries economy and culture. I think both of this group of people are right on their site.

Firstly, those, who think that theatres are not important anymore, For example, nowaday its very easy to watch every movies in every languages on their mobile phone. because every movies that release on theatre eventually come on OTT platforms after few months. for example, Netflix, Apple tv etc you can watch any movie and series you want on you phone or TV.

Soundly, those people who think that theatres are still much important for our countries economy and culture. these peoples are also right in my opinion. because theatres and cinema halls carries a big amount of part of our countries economy. and watching a movie in a theatre is also like a culture for us for almost a century. for example, a movie can shows a countries culture, hospitality, their beautiful nature to the whole world that can make a country more respectful. for example Hollywood, we like america because of there movies and culture they shows on there movies.

Finally, after all of these explanation the main conclusion is that both of those propels are right. one prefer Personal experience and thought and other think about their countries economy and culture which is more practical in my opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state an opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. The first body paragraph explains the convenience of watching films on phones and streaming platforms, while the next gives economic and cultural reasons to retain cinemas. However, the position is not fully clear: “both of this group of people are right” is repeated, and the conclusion says one view is “more practical” without explaining which view you ultimately support. Several points also need fuller development. For instance, you mention cinemas’ contribution to the economy but do not explain how they create income or employment. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or specific example, and state a consistent, direct opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, which gives it a recognisable overall structure. The reader can generally follow the intended contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and linking is often mechanical or inaccurate: “Firstly,” “Soundly,” and repeated “for example” do not always show the relationship between ideas clearly. The conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than bringing the discussion together. Some references are also unclear, such as “both of those propels” and “one prefer Personal experience.” Use accurate transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion,” connect each example explicitly to its point, and make the final paragraph state your position rather than restating both sides.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “OTT platforms,” “economy,” “culture,” and “personal experience,” and the reader can identify the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less natural and sometimes difficult to interpret. Examples include “Soundly” for introducing the second view, “much important,” “a big amount of part,” and “more respectful.” There are also repeated basic terms such as “people,” “movies,” and “important.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing access, cultural influence, and economic benefits, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Aim for precise phrasing rather than adding vocabulary that does not fit the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-example structure with “because” and a relative clause in “a movie can shows a countries culture … that can make a country more respectful.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “theatres and cinema halls carries” should use a plural verb, while “a movie can shows” combines a modal with an incorrect verb form. Several sentences begin with lowercase “because,” and punctuation does not consistently separate complete ideas. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
