Student answer (Band 5.5)

the present time has change the ways human being used to live before. some group argue that online entertainment is far better than watching a show on theatres and cinemas. i diagree with this statement and giv emy opinion on it.

i believe theatres and cinemas are not only made for watching shows only. it is all about the experience mankind will get while watching actors or actresses. It is place where people gather to spend some quality time with their loved ones. we can say that we have really good example from history where romans built such structures, so that people can enjoy and spent some quality time. It also plays an important role in economy of a country, such buildings can attract visitors from all around the world and it can help businesses to earn a good amout of income.

i would like to discuss about the other group which believe that such shows are extremely accessible through internet or easy to find online. technology has made easy access of everything online but can not provide physical experience of everything. it may be cost saving and make it easy for introvert personells. App like netflix has make it easy for people to watch such programs easily. It really helps people to watch any program, while remaining at the comfort of their home.

In my opinion theatres and cinemas are important and they really help people to know there culture and really attract people. Anything can be seen online but the experience people can have while watching things from their naked eye has whole different vibe.

Theatres and cinemas are most important, people can also access them online but can not have a good experience of what can be seen physically happening infront of them. Cinemas and theatres are are part of our culture and can be also good for generating good amount of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear opinion that theatres and cinemas remain important, and you include relevant reasons such as shared experiences, cultural value and economic benefits. You also present the opposing view by noting that online services are accessible, convenient and potentially cheaper. However, the discussion is uneven: the online argument is brief, and points such as helping introverted people are mentioned without explanation. Some support is also broad—for example, the reference to Roman structures does not clearly show how theatres matter today. Develop each side with a specific example and explain how it supports your point; this would make the response address the discussion more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting theatres, a paragraph on online entertainment, and a concluding opinion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose, and the conclusion repeats claims already made, including that theatres are culturally important and generate money. Linking phrases such as “i would like to discuss about the other group” are mechanical, while references such as “such shows” and “it” do not always identify their subject clearly. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it; use more precise referencing and avoid repeating the same conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “online entertainment,” “physical experience,” “attract visitors,” and “generating…money,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “the experience mankind will get,” “easy access of everything online,” and “good amount of income.” Repetition of “important,” “experience,” and “people” also reduces flexibility. Spelling and word-form slips, including “diagree,” “amout,” and “personells,” are noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing cultural and economic effects, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “structures, so that people can enjoy…” and a contrast in “Anything can be seen online but…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation. Examples include “the present time has change,” “App like netflix has make,” and “Cinemas and theatres are are part of our culture.” Several sentences also lack capital letters at their beginnings or for “I.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning can usually be recovered. Practise accurate present and present-perfect forms, singular/plural agreement, and sentence boundaries before attempting more complex structures.
