Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern life, entertainment plays an important role in everyone's life. so few individuals claim that people are giving more perference to watch online instead of going outside for digital age, theatres and cinemas and others think that both cinemas and theatres have still importance for economically and culturally. i will discuss both views in upcoming paragraphs before reaching at a reasonable conclusion.

On the one hand, why some people feels that cinema and theatres are replaced by online sites? the fundametal reason is that people do not have time and money to spend for watching outside with their family. so now there are many online apps, sites and social media where people can watch and enjoy anytime although working or traveling as well as they do not need to travel and wait in queues for buying tickets. As a result, they like to buy subscriptions of netflix, amazon prime and many others and at home people have more time to watch movies and web series.

On the other hand, there are some reasons why others think that theatres and cinemas have own importance to grow economically and culturally. First of all, cinemas are not only for enjoyment because it helps to create job for actor, director, camera men and who are working in cinemas hall which gives birth to many jobs for people and grow their salary. Secondly, Theatres play an important role in community to change the shape of world by providing music, languages and drama where family can get together and spend their quality time.

To sum up, after having a deep discussion about this statement , I think that everybody should go to watch theatres and cinemas for spending time with family and enjoy lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a personal opinion, so the response covers the main parts of the prompt. The first body paragraph explains the convenience and lower cost of online viewing, while the second identifies employment and community experiences as reasons cinemas and theatres remain valuable. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online argument has several practical details, whereas the cultural point about “providing music, languages and drama” is unclear and would benefit from a specific example. Your conclusion supports attending theatres and cinemas, but it does not explain how this view weighs against the convenience of online entertainment. Make your position more explicit and extend each main idea with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress in a logical order. This already provides a coherent framework, though some linking is mechanical and a few references are unclear. For example, “which gives birth to many jobs” follows a long description of workers, making the connection awkward, and “both cinemas and theatres have still importance” is difficult to follow. Use more precise links between claims and explanations, and ensure each paragraph develops one clearly connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “subscriptions,” “queues,” “community,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and readers can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “quality time” and “web series.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “perference” and “fundametal” are misspelled, while “grow their salary” and “change the shape of world” are unnatural collocations. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “people” and “watch.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, and choose more precise terms when explaining economic and cultural benefits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result structure with “As a result” and a clause beginning “where people can watch.” These attempts help communicate the main ideas, but control is uneven. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “some people feels” and “it helps to create job”; articles and plurals are also missing or inconsistent in phrases such as “for digital age” and “create job.” Sentence boundaries and capitalization need attention: “so” begins a sentence in lowercase, and the opening paragraph uses “i” rather than “I.” Practise accurate agreement, articles, and sentence punctuation, then build longer sentences from simpler, correct patterns.
