Student answer (Band 5.0)

In modern day era, we have observed chnages in almost every field but if we specifically talk about the media industry, it has revolutionized entirely from print media to modern day television which upholds it massive holding. However people may have different opinions related to theatres and cinemas as in the digital and modern age the movies and all the entertainment have become accessible on the phone and easy access have change the mind set and priorities of having or enjoying the wholesome experience of going to theatres and cinemas as an important form of enjoyment or relaxation.

Rather they prefer to watch through their gadgets with the easy subscription methods without having the hastle of traveling. Whereas there are still some people who have separate importance of cinemas in their day life routine considering that a proper outing to go with friends and family and going on weekends. Both are the form of having or consuming same kind of media and both have their own pros and cons. It depends on preferences paying on subscriptions at different platforms for various movies and going once a month both are fine if balance is maintained.

Going to cinema every week or paying too much or OTT platforms both will end up in affecting the budget. So it depends on people own ease and comfort. How they actually want their experience to be. In otherwords you can say its all about the choice and preferences we could say that cinemas are best means of enjoying movies

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You recognise both perspectives: online viewing is convenient, while cinemas can provide a social outing with friends and family. However, the discussion remains general and does not adequately explain the economic or cultural importance specifically mentioned in the prompt. For example, “Both are the form of having or consuming same kind of media” compares the options but does not develop either view with a relevant reason or example. Your own position is also unclear: you say the choice depends on personal preference, then conclude that cinemas are “best,” without explaining this preference. To strengthen the response, address each part directly, explain how cinemas support jobs or shared cultural experiences, and give a clear, consistent opinion supported by a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation: the opening introduces the topic, the next section contrasts online viewing with cinema visits, and the final lines attempt to state a conclusion. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into long sentences, and the response does not use clear paragraphing to separate the two views and your opinion. Connectors such as “Rather,” “Whereas,” and “So” signal contrast or consequence, but their relationships are not always clear; for instance, “Going to cinema every week or paying too much or OTT platforms both will end up in affecting the budget” is hard to interpret. Use distinct paragraphs, one main point per paragraph, and clearer links between reasons and conclusions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “subscription methods,” “wholesome experience,” and “preferences,” which helps convey the general subject. Some choices are imprecise or unnatural, however, and spelling errors are noticeable: “hastle,” “chnages,” and “mind set” weaken the overall control. Phrases such as “massive holding” and “separate importance” do not clearly express the intended meaning, while “OTT platforms” may be unfamiliar to some readers without explanation. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and choose vocabulary that directly expresses your point. For example, describe cinemas as “cultural venues” or “a source of employment,” rather than relying on vague phrases about their importance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, such as “as in the digital and modern age the movies and all the entertainment have become accessible on the phone,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow: “easy access have change the mind set” does not maintain correct subject–verb agreement or verb form, and “Both are the form” has an unclear grammatical structure. Several sentences also run together or lack punctuation, particularly the opening and the final section. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas with accurate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
