Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals said that in today's digital era, theatress and cinema are not that much important, although the public can watch all the entertainment they want on internet. on the otehr hand some argue that theatres and cinemas are crucial for both econimical and cultural.

At present finding entertainment is much easier than before, its more like saving time and efforts for the young generation, few years back we can only rely on offline etertainment to lift our mood, but now we are just one click away to refresh ourselves, its not like that we dont have any source before we all used to watch televison or dvd player for entertainment but those arae very limited and not depend on our mood what we love to watch at that moment. In today's world you are just few click away to entertainment, if you want to listen your favourite music you can open an app and search it, where we have to wait before when our loved song will play on tv channel, nowdays there are many apps where you can watch unlimited of movies.

But beacuse of this we forgot to enjoy our social lifes, back in days when some movies released we go out with family and friends to cinema or theaters to watch dramas where we loved to be in that moment but now we are just doing binge watching in past we have to wait a whole day to watch next espisode of your favourite serials but today in this digital world every thing you can find online because of this we are are losing interest in other things.

In my perspective we are losing overself in digital era, its more like misuse of technology. I think internet is to make thing easier for us but we are getiing lazier day by day and second thing thing I don't think theaters and cinemas are that much economical becuse if we are not going out and and watch movies online eventually we are paying for subscription. But cuturally i can say it will effect us socialy because we are losing value of our family and friends in our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views by explaining the convenience of online entertainment and the social value of going to cinemas or theatres, and your own position is visible: you see digital use as potentially excessive and socially isolating. However, the discussion is only partial. The economic importance of theatres and cinemas is not really examined; instead, you argue that people pay for online subscriptions, which does not explain the venues’ economic or cultural contribution. Cultural points about spending time with family and friends are relevant, but remain general and are not supported with a specific example. Develop each side more evenly and state your position clearly in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces the debate, discusses online access, considers social effects, and gives a personal view. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “on the other hand” and “In my perspective” signal shifts in focus. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. The second paragraph moves from saving time to television, music apps, and films without clear development, while the final paragraph repeats points about social loss. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect examples directly to that idea, and use clearer sentence boundaries and references to avoid repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital era,” “binge watching,” “subscription,” and “social lives.” These terms help communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or repetitive, such as “one click away to entertainment” and “losing interest in other things.” There are also frequent spelling and word-form errors, including “theatress,” “econimical,” “etertainment,” and “cuturally,” which can distract the reader. Aim for more precise topic language and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish the economic benefits of venues from the cost of online subscriptions, and use natural collocations when describing social and cultural effects.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “although,” “but,” and “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty or run together, making some relationships difficult to follow. For instance, “At present finding entertainment is much easier than before, its more like saving time and efforts” joins independent clauses with a comma, and “back in days when some movies released we go out” has problems with tense and clause structure. Errors also occur in agreement and sentence construction, as in “every thing you can find online.” Use full stops to separate complete ideas, maintain consistent past or present tense, and practise accurate subordinate clauses.
