Student answer (Band 6.0)
21st century is an extraordinary time with fast pace and busy lifestyle. People these days tends to find shortcut for everything, wheather it is watching entertainment at home or ordering food. But a majority still believes that going out for such activities is both healthy and presevation of culture as well. Let us discuss both views below.
With the hectic routine and busy scedule of erveyday, most of the people like to relax and chill at their home watching shows and movies online. For example having a cup of hot coffee with your favourite snack like protein bar and watching a thrilling show acts as relaxational stimuli for the brain. Besides after working/studying the entire day, people want to just lie in their cozy beds and wants to watch their favourite show to sleep.
However, the theatres and Cinemas are equally important. They are a great source of generating revenue by doing business. Cinemas are never built solely, instead they always have some shops, cafe or restaurants nearby adding to the improvement of revenue. Theartres on the other hand, preseves the art and literature, displays the cultural value and norms going within the society. Subsequently, the plays/dramas and shows like stand-up comedy depicts the present and past day culture which again is highly important and an amazing attraction for tourists. For example, during the independence-day celebrations, Theatres are engaged with plays of independence war highlighting the events of the war while remembering and honoring the martyrs.
Therefore, in my opinion, Threatres and Cinemas are important both econmically and cultuarly for our people in this digital age, since it is also an escape from everyday boring routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear opinion that theatres and cinemas remain important for economic and cultural reasons. The economic point about nearby shops and cafés, and the cultural example of independence-day plays, are relevant and help support your position. The online-entertainment view is also explained through convenience and relaxation. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the example of watching a show in bed illustrates personal comfort, but does not explain more broadly why online entertainment is attractive. The claim that cinemas generate revenue could also be supported with a clearer explanation of jobs, ticket sales, or local businesses. Develop each main point with a reason and a specific consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for online viewing, a contrasting paragraph on theatres and cinemas, and a concluding opinion. Linking expressions such as “However,” “Besides,” and “Therefore” make the direction of the argument easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the relevant points. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. At times, though, connections feel mechanical, and the first paragraph’s “Let us discuss both views below” adds little. The transition from economic benefits to cultural value could be smoother. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and make sure each paragraph develops one central idea in a clear sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “generating revenue,” “cultural value,” “norms,” and “attraction for tourists,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “relaxational stimuli,” “presevation of culture,” and “displays the cultural value.” Spelling errors, including “wheather,” “scedule,” and “econmically,” are noticeable and reduce the control of the vocabulary. Some informal wording, such as “chill” and “cozy beds,” is less suitable for an academic essay. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; a smaller number of well-controlled expressions will be more effective than ambitious but unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause in “since it is also an escape from everyday boring routine” and a longer example introduced by “For example.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For instance, “People these days tends” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “people want to … and wants to watch” does not maintain agreement within the sentence. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in phrases such as “with fast pace” and “acts as relaxational stimuli for the brain.” Review agreement, articles, and parallel structures, then proofread each sentence for a complete and consistent grammatical pattern. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
