Student answer (Band 5.5)
With the rise of the different type of technologies and the immersion in the digital era, theatres and cinemas are up for discussion as many people do believe they are no longer important as they were once, yet another group of people argue that it still hold an economical and cultural significance.
Those who say that theatres and cinemas are no longer interesting as they were before, argue that there are plenty of streaming paltforms all over the web that bring the watching experience to your home and in your living room, so that you don'thave to go to the cinema or theaters to watch, for example you can simply have a Netflix or Hulu subscription and the experience will remain the same with less of an effort. Since that every movie or show or any streaming service is availble in the digital age that we are witnessing as of today.
On the other hand another group argue that the significance that cinemas and theaters hold both economically and culturally, is not ot be dismissed so simply, since the experience authenticity will always remain intact in this case, as an example we can mention thriller movies in the cinema, the experience whiel you share with the rest of the audience how you get stressed, feel joy relief, react to plottwists, these things are shared with the rest of the people there and it eventually amplifies its depth making it feel more real and more authentic.
I personally prefer the outdoor experience whether gonig to the cinemas or theaters, the authentic experience and reactions are always natural and more amplified as they feel more real as well as direct, I do as well respect the cultural value that you can possibly meet and encounter people same as friends who shared the same test as you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a personal preference for attending cinemas and theatres, so the response is relevant to the task. The strongest supporting point is that sharing reactions to a thriller with an audience can make the experience feel more authentic. However, the discussion is uneven: the online-entertainment view is mainly supported by convenience and subscriptions, while the claim that venues matter economically is introduced but not explained. Your opinion is present, but it focuses mostly on the experience and cultural value rather than clearly weighing both sides. Develop the economic argument with a specific reason or example, and explain why your preferred experience outweighs the convenience of streaming. This would make the response more complete and its ideas clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding personal opinion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “I personally prefer” help readers follow the shift between positions. However, some connections are awkward or unclear. The sentence beginning “Since that every movie…” is a fragment and does not clearly connect to the preceding point. The final paragraph also combines preference, cultural value, and meeting like-minded people without fully separating these ideas. Use complete sentences and make each paragraph’s central point explicit; clearer links between the claim and its example would improve progression. Overall, the structure is coherent, though cohesion is sometimes faulty.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “streaming platforms,” “subscription,” “cultural value,” and “authentic experience.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and “amplifies its depth” shows an attempt to express a more nuanced effect. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the writing less natural, such as “paltforms,” “availble,” “plottwists,” and “same test as you.” Some phrases are also imprecise: “the experience will remain the same” overstates the similarity between home viewing and a cinema visit. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise wording, especially when discussing economic importance and the differences between the two forms of entertainment.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including longer clauses with “as,” “since,” and “whether,” but complex sentences are often not controlled successfully. For example, “Since that every movie or show … is available” is an incomplete sentence, while “another group argue” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “the experience … how you get stressed,” the clause structure is unclear, and the final sentence joins several ideas without a clear grammatical relationship. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation, and revise long sentences for clarity.
