Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern era, the way people consume online entertainment has changed. Nowadays online platforms becoming popular. It is argued that theatres and cinemas are no longer essential like previous because it is now available in digital platforms. Some people believe that though there are digital platforms available but theatres and cinemas are still essential both economically and culturally. This essay will explain both perspectives and explain why I believe traditional theatres and cinemas remain important.
On the one hand, growing popularity of digital platforms has reduced the people's dependence on traditional entertainment. Also because of these platforms people can save their money and time. This is an advantage for people with busy schedule they do not have to travel far to watch movie which will save their time of travelling and save the money of tickets. For example, on one weekend I was not feeling well so that I could not go to the cinema but I really wanted to watch one. So as I know some digital platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube etc. so these allowed me to comfortably fulfil my wish.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas are still irreplaceable becase it provide unique experience that digital platforms can not replicate. The big screen of the cinema hall and the sound effect which a movie hall provides, gives immersive experience which is unmatchable compare to the digital platforms. While attending to the theatre, it allows us to feel the actors emotion face-to-face. It also contribute economically to the actors and others associated with it. Socially it is significal becase we can meet new people and exchange our knowledge and ideas
In conclution, I believe that though digital platforms provide us comfort, save money and time but it can not replace theatres and cinemas. The live experience of theatres sometimes take people to another world of imagination. Also the large screen of cinemas and the sound effect make the cinemtic experiance create more romantic vibe.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a consistent opinion that cinemas and theatres remain important. The first body paragraph explains the convenience and savings offered by online platforms, supported by your personal example; the second gives relevant cultural and economic reasons for retaining traditional venues. This meets the task well, and the position is clear from the introduction through the conclusion. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the claim that venues contribute economically is not supported with an explanation or example, and the social benefit of meeting people is only briefly mentioned. Develop these ideas with specific consequences or evidence, and make the comparison between online viewing and shared, live experiences more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening repeats the idea that platforms are popular and that venues are no longer essential, while “Also because of these platforms” begins a sentence with an unclear link to the previous point. In the second body paragraph, the move from the cinema experience to economic and social benefits feels abrupt. Use clearer transitions between these distinct reasons and avoid repeating the same point in the introduction and conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital platforms,” “immersive experience,” “irreplaceable,” and “economically and culturally.” These choices show some range and help communicate your main ideas. However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision: “available in digital platforms,” “feel the actors emotion face-to-face,” and “more romantic vibe” are not natural or suitably precise in this context. There are also misspellings such as “becase,” “conclution,” and “cinemtic.” Aim for more accurate collocations and a consistently appropriate academic register; proofreading spelling and replacing informal phrases with precise descriptions would make your ideas clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “though” and a relative clause in “the sound effect which a movie hall provides.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical control occur across the response. For example, “Nowadays online platforms becoming popular” is missing a finite verb, and “it provide” and “It also contribute” do not agree with their subjects. The sentence beginning “For example, on one weekend…” also combines clauses awkwardly, while “While attending to the theatre, it allows us…” has an unclear subject. Practise complete clauses, subject–verb agreement, and clear pronoun reference, then check each sentence for a logical subject and verb.
