Student answer (Band 4.5)
Many individuals claim that the popularity of theaters and cinemas has fallen as people can now watch the entertainment online in this digital era. While others insist that the trend would still retain its importance both economically and culturally.
Many beleive that they would not be used in future and the trend is declining because all the material being played is also avalible on social media for free or at a small cost, but the later group argue that it would not be the issue because people go to cinemas for entertainment.
I completely agree with the former point of veiw, that their popularity would mantain instead of dropping and would continue to grow.
Many individuals beleive that theaters would fell into disuse because of the social media and development of digital marketing. They think that all movies that were played there are also avalible on app for a fration or no cost. Moreover, they think that its a waste of money and time.
Others think that it would not be the issue because people go to cinemas for entertainment.
I completely agree with the former point of veiw, that their popularity would mantain instead of dropping and would continue to grow. Furthermore, they want to spend a quality time with their family, friend or anyone they love.
To conclude, i think that the later veiw is more relevant and explains the veiw more broadly and its becuse most people go to theaters for having fun and enjoy the great moments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify both views and state a preference for the idea that cinemas will remain popular, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic and cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not explained, and the reasons for continued popularity are mostly limited to entertainment and spending time with loved ones. The opposing view is also repeated rather than explored, and the claim that online material is available for free or at low cost needs a clearer example or explanation. Your position is difficult to follow because you first agree with the view that popularity will be maintained, then conclude that the “later view” is more relevant. Develop each side with specific reasons and make your opinion consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and basic linking words such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help signal relationships. However, ideas do not progress clearly: the point that cinemas are used for entertainment and your opinion are repeated almost word for word, while the second body paragraph adds little development. The reference to “the former point” and later “the later view” is confusing, especially because the conclusion appears to support a different view from the one stated earlier. Organise the essay into distinct paragraphs for each side, then give your opinion and supporting reasons in a separate, clearly connected section. Use referencing that makes each viewpoint unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “digital era,” “social media,” “development” and “popularity,” and the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “beleive,” “avalible,” “veiw,” “mantain” and “fration.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “the trend would still retain its importance” and “for having fun and enjoy the great moments.” Aim for accurate spelling and more precise collocations when discussing the two viewpoints. For example, describe cinemas as “venues” or “cultural institutions,” and explain their “economic contribution” rather than referring vaguely to a “trend.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “While others insist…” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is uneven, and some sentence structures are incomplete or awkward. The opening “While others insist that…” is a dependent clause without a complete main clause, and “Many individuals claim… While others insist…” does not form a well-connected sentence. There are also errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “spend a quality time” and “family, friend or anyone they love.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including the lowercase “i” in the conclusion. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, plurals and punctuation during revision.
