Student answer (Band 5.0)
it is often debated whether cinemes have become useless due to online moives. some think they are not needed.while others say they are still important for economy and culture, i will discuss both views and give my opinion with my own experince. To begin, onlineplatforms are popular because theyare cheap and convenient .they use of Netflixhas rose and grew .for example from my own experince i watched moives on youtube at homes during my exams. compared with cinema.it was smallest. as result, cinema visitors have declined.conversely, cinemas are still important .they create the largest number of job while online gives less local jobs. for example i went to cinema to gujranwala with my friends amd experince was excellent. However ,wtching on mobile is boring similarlythey keep out culture alive.conversely,i am convinced that theatres and cinema still hold the largest importance economically, they expanded thousand of jobs for actors ,technicians and local shopkeepers while online platform provide fewer jobs for local people.like wise hand , national films and dramasshown in theatres help to preserve our traditionn as a result they maintain the samefigure and will level off in the future instead of disappering.in conclusion, although online entertainment has improved and grew . i belive cinemas are still essential because they support th economy and keep our culture alive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both perspectives and state your view that cinemas remain important, especially in the conclusion. The examples about watching YouTube at home and visiting a cinema with friends are relevant, but they are brief and do not explain the economic or cultural effects in much detail. The discussion also becomes repetitive: the claim that cinemas create jobs appears more than once, while the view that online entertainment makes cinemas less necessary receives limited development. The response is 215 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. To strengthen the response, develop each side with a clear reason and a specific explanation or example, and make your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, discussion of online viewing, points in favour of cinemas, and a conclusion. However, progression is difficult to follow because ideas are crowded together and paragraphing is absent. Connectors such as “conversely,” “however,” and “as a result” are used repeatedly or do not clearly show the relationship between the ideas; for example, “However, wtching on mobile is boring similarly they keep out culture alive” combines separate points without a clear link. Some references, such as “they,” are also unclear. Use separate paragraphs for each view, organise one main idea at a time, and choose linking expressions that accurately signal contrast, cause, or example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “local jobs,” “actors,” “technicians,” and “preserve our tradition,” which helps communicate the main topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “cinemes,” “moives,” “experince,” and “dramasshown.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “they use of Netflixhas rose and grew” and “hold the largest importance.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for employment, cultural heritage, and audience habits would help you explain the two views with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to combine ideas using clauses, as in “although online entertainment has improved and grew,” and it includes a few longer sentences. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur in “Netflix has rose and grew” and “they create the largest number of job”; articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Several sentences run together, while others are fragments, such as “compared with cinema.” These problems sometimes make the intended relationships hard to follow. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately, and check verb forms, articles, plurals, and punctuation.
