Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most of the people thought that theatres and cinemas are no more important in this modern world because we can see movies also on internet but others contradict this statement. I will discuss both views and then I will give my own opinion.

In this modern era, where all the things are in one touch. People can watch all the TV shows like dramas, movies and series on the internet. People do not need to go outside with their friends or families to watch movie. They can see it by connecting the LCD with the internet. In this way, they can watch all of their favourite shows free by staying in their houses. They can watch all the serials with no interuption and disturbance.

According to this world, people have no time to go outisde and entertained themselves. People toil day and night to meet their expenses and do not have enough time to spend outside with their friends and families. Therefore, people thought that if the theatres and cinemas are closed so people became more lazy and do not go ouside even in the weekends.

According to my knowledge, theatres and cinemas are important to relax ourselvs, because these places give you the rich and pleasant vibes. Watching movies with yours friends and families by going outside between the strangers give you the chance to make new friends and enjoy freely. Because in house you can not enjoy freely because of your neighbours or some strict people in your family. So, watching series by going outside give you the pleasant vibe and make memories.

To sum up the whole conversation, I would like to conclude by saying that, in this scientific world where you do not have the leisure time to go outside, cinemas and theatres are the best way to calm youreself anfd made your memories.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You introduce the topic and state that you will discuss both views, and your own position—that cinemas and theatres remain valuable—is apparent in the later paragraphs and conclusion. However, the two sides are not addressed evenly or precisely. The first body paragraph explains the convenience of online viewing, but the next paragraph shifts to people being busy and becoming lazy if venues close, rather than clearly developing the economic and cultural importance named in the prompt. Your opinion is supported with social enjoyment and atmosphere, but these points need fuller explanation and a relevant example. To strengthen the response, directly discuss online access alongside venues’ economic contribution and cultural role, then support each main claim with specific reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, so the reader can identify its broad structure. Some progression is also visible: you move from online convenience to the value of going out. However, the argument does not develop in a consistently logical sequence. The paragraph beginning “According to this world” introduces limited free time, then makes an unclear claim about venues closing and people becoming lazy. Repeated openings such as “In this modern era” and “According to” make connections feel mechanical, while “To sum up the whole conversation” does not clearly synthesise the two views. Use topic sentences that identify each side, and connect each explanation directly to the task’s economic or cultural points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “internet,” “TV shows,” “theatres and cinemas,” and “memories.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “rich and pleasant vibes.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended meaning less clear: “all the things are in one touch,” “watch all the serials with no interruption,” and “according to this world” do not express the ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “interuption,” “outisde,” and “ourselvs” also affect accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing convenience, social experience, cultural value and economic impact, and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses introduced by “because” and “where,” and the overall message is usually understandable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “where all the things are in one touch” is not a complete, well-formed clause, while “if the theatres and cinemas are closed so people became more lazy” combines conditional and result structures incorrectly and shifts tense. There are also recurring errors with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “watch movie” and “Because in house you can not enjoy freely.” Practise building accurate conditional and cause-and-effect sentences, and review articles, verb forms and punctuation before adding more complexity.
