Student answer (Band 5.5)
There has been a debate going on, in which some group of people believed that theatres and cinemas are no longer neccessary as people can now watch all the entertainment through digital technology. While, other people argue that threatres and cinemas are still crucial for both the economically and culturally. From my perspective, i completely agree that threatres and cinemas are important.
On the first hand, it is a digital era where everything is available in online. From purchasing a pencil to buying a clothes anything can be done through online. For example, we have many platform such as netflex, jio hotstar and prime video where we can watch all the latest movies and series without going outside which results in better comfort since it does not required us to travel from one place to another that will culminates in saving the cost and not need to face the detrimental traffic.
On the other hand, watching movies offline has way beneficial effect. For instance, it is important to spend time with family and the best way would be going out and watching movies in theatres rather than online. While,it will have larger than life experience. Furthermore, the half of money spend on cinemas and theatres will pay as taxes to government that will eventually benefit the public.
I firmly belived that cinemas and threatres are important for the growth of country and for the people. Every individual are different with different goal. And this generation poeple are more into acting. Therefore, it is required for every perspect.
In conclusion, everything is easily available in online that will initially save the time and money. However, theatres and cinemas are important for growth and to enjoy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear opinion that theatres and cinemas remain important, and you include points relevant to both views: online platforms offer convenience and save travel, while cinemas provide a shared family experience and contribute tax revenue. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The online-view paragraph is supported with platform examples, but the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is asserted rather than explained in detail. The point that “this generation people are more into acting” is unclear and does not convincingly support your position. To strengthen the response, explain how cinemas support jobs or local businesses and why the communal viewing experience has cultural value, using specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “On the first hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, some links are mechanical or awkward, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, the move from family outings to tax revenue in the second body paragraph needs a clearer connection, while the paragraph beginning “I firmly believed” repeats your position without developing it. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect each example explicitly to that point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital era,” “platform,” “larger than life experience,” and “taxes to government.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “detrimental traffic.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “neccessary,” “threatres,” “netflex,” and “perspect” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “everything is available in online” and “way beneficial effect.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “streaming services,” “box-office revenue,” and “shared cultural experience” would help express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which results in better comfort” and a reason clause beginning “since.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence patterns contain errors that can make the reader pause. Examples include “it does not required us,” “the half of money spend,” and “Every individual are different,” which show problems with verb forms, articles, and subject–verb agreement. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly in “While, other people argue” and “And this generation…” Practise building accurate complex sentences, and check agreement and verb forms before adding further clauses.
