Student answer (Band 6.0)
The medium of entertainment has evolved through the years. New forms like online streaming platforms have provided audience with more convenience. While depending on the following reason few argue that theatres and cinemas are losing their charm, others believe the economic and cultural value of the traditional mediums are still strong. I am inclined to agree with the second view.
In the digital age, online streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Primes and Chorki are getting popular. Firstly, these options give people the choice to enjoy dramas, movies and documentaries in their own free time and mood. They can enjoy more privacy and comfort of home. Moreover, with the rising popularity they offer exclusive shows, movies and documentaries by buying the rights beforehand. So, the viewers get added benefit. Finally, it is very affordable and with a small amount of money people can buy subscriptions, whereas going to cinemas are comparatively quite expensive. Mainly, what people can watch in theares, they can access it on online.
However, theatres and cinemas contribute to the economy and culture. There are a lot of economic activity that is dependent on these businesses such as food vendors. People buy food, drinks and popcorns, while visiting halls. This promotes flow of cash and influence the countries economy. On the other hand, cinemas have signicant cultural value. People go to theatres with their families on special occasions and creates memories. There are various cinema halls closely tied with a cities culture. For instance, Balaka cinema hall and Ananda cinema hall have served as a cultural hub at a time. Going to cinemas with friends, watching movies together and dancing on the songs have been a memorable time for a lot of indiciduals. These cinema halls still uphold their importance culturally. Whenever a new movie comes in Bangladesh in is first released in cinema halls. The success is mainly measured by the people coming to see the movie in cinemas.
To sum it up, even though online platforms have given the opportunity to access international entertainment shows and dramas, cinema halls and theatres provide an experience that can not be topped.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for the continuing value of cinemas: “I am inclined to agree with the second view.” The discussion of streaming is relevant, with convenience, privacy, exclusive content and affordability, while the second view is supported by economic activity and shared cultural experiences. The Bangladesh cinema-hall example also makes the cultural point more specific. This meets the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally: the streaming discussion is mostly a list of benefits, and the economic claim focuses mainly on food vendors rather than explaining broader effects. Your conclusion reinforces your position, though it could more directly weigh the two arguments. More explanation of how each example supports your judgement would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding summary. The progression within the streaming paragraph is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” “Finally,” and “However” help readers identify the argument’s stages. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. At times, however, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and the sequence of points can feel like a list rather than a developed line of reasoning. The final paragraph begins “To sum it up,” but it does not explicitly connect the cultural and economic arguments to your stated preference. Some references are also unclear, such as “the success” in the final sentence. Use transitions that show relationships between ideas and make references more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online streaming platforms,” “exclusive shows,” “economic activity,” “cultural hub,” and “subscriptions.” These expressions allow you to discuss both digital entertainment and the role of cinemas, and some choices, such as “uphold their importance,” show an attempt to use less common phrasing. However, several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision: “provided audience with more convenience,” “Amazon Primes,” “flow of cash,” “signicant,” and “indiciduals.” “Traditional mediums” is also less natural here than “traditional venues” or “forms of entertainment.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but careful proofreading and more natural collocations would make the vocabulary more controlled and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concessive opening (“While…”) and a relative clause in “what people can watch in theatres.” Most sentences communicate their intended meaning, and the paragraph structure helps readability. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “There are a lot of economic activity” needs a plural or uncountable construction, while “People go to theatres with their families on special occasions and creates memories” shifts incorrectly from plural subject to singular verb. “Going to cinemas are” also has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Whenever a new movie comes in Bangladesh in is first released” contains an incorrect pronoun and sentence construction. Review agreement and sentence boundaries, then proofread complex sentences to improve accuracy.
